Mail problems and mail problems fixed..

About an hour and a half ago mail started failing for pretty much ALL customers..
After some research, it seemed like dns was the problem. However, things seemed fine on the dns servers themselves. Something was wonky with the network it looked like.
Poking around for a while finally revealed the problem, the load balancer our mail [...]

We received a de-listing confirmation on our main load-balanced mail IP a couple hours ago and are keeping an eye on the reports in the meantime. We received confirmation of de-listing from .Mac’s blacklist this morning (a courtesy few provide, that we certainly appreciate!) and they have agreed to whitelist this IP so that it no longer triggers their volume blocks alone.

It looks like Spamcop blocked our main mail IP early this morning. We’re currently working on resolving this, and generally Spamcop blocks should be lifted much faster (and should not be as recurring) as problems such as the ongoing AOL issue (which they have set up to trigger automatically, on a daily basis, which [...]

Dead NIC on Fig

One of Fig’s network card’s died earlier. The machine is being failed over to new hardware now and will be back up and running to the world soon. Check this space for an update!

Hops not so hoppy.

Our shared hosting server “hops.dreamhost.com” is having troubles with one of its network cards, and as such is down. We’re in the process of moving it to new hardware now.
Update: hops.dreamhost.com is back online on its new hardware.

soda and fidget going down for some quick ram upgrades

The servers soda.dreamhost.com, and fidget.dreamhost.com, will be offline for a couple minutes each while we stuff some more ram into them. This will only affect websites for those of you who are hosted on these servers, email will remain online.
