Our version of WebCalendar in the One-Click Install panel has been upgraded to 1.0.4. If you are currently running WebCalendar 1.0.3 or lower, you should upgrade immediately as security vulnerabilities have been discovered in those older versions.

Trackback spam on gradius squelched

Posted 2 years, 2 months ago (June 13th, 2006 at 3:21 am PST)

It looks like there was some heavy trackback spamming going on against the server gradius. This was causing it to crash. I am identifying source IP’s and adding them to the firewall as they stick out. The server should stabilize now.

Minor goof on DB server Sizzle! (Fixed!)

Posted 2 years, 2 months ago (June 13th, 2006 at 12:58 am PST)

It looks like the MySQL data directory wasn’t properly put onto the big partition on that server. I am moving it over now, however in order to get a consistent move I have to stop all MySQL services on there. It should only take a few minutes for the move.

All better!

Some of you on the bandini server may have noticed that is is unresponsive as of about 4:30pm (PST). We rebooted it, but it is having kernel problems upon coming back up. We are in the process of moving it over to new hardware and it should be back up and running shortly. Sorry for [...]

Catch-all Forward Disabling Postponed, Dedicated and GMail Exempted

Posted 2 years, 2 months ago (June 12th, 2006 at 11:55 am PST)

We appreciate the feedback/concern that has been sent in via support over the weekend regarding the catch-all forwarding change. I’m sorry if we caused anyone to panic! We are simply eager to resolve the blacklisting problems we’ve had as quickly as possible.
We’re going to postpone the actual disabling of external catch-all forwarding until [...]

Larchmont’s recent downtime!

Posted 2 years, 2 months ago (June 11th, 2006 at 4:16 pm PST)

Today, larchmont was the victim of a Denial of Service attack. We’ve firewalled the IP address sending the attack, and reconfigured the IP addresses that were effected. This resulted in about 30 minutes of downtime. Sorry about that! =-)

Brief DNS outage

Posted 2 years, 2 months ago (June 11th, 2006 at 2:17 am PST)

It seems our primary DNS server, ns1.dreamhost.com, had stopped responding to DNS lookups for about 20 minutes just now. This caused intermittent issues with people’s sites and email.
Restarting the DNS server seemed to fix the issue but if you continue to have problems accessing your sites or email please let us know.

mysql load (resolved!)

Posted 2 years, 2 months ago (June 9th, 2006 at 8:48 am PST)

We are experiencing mysql load issues. We believe that it’s being caused by a bad switch. Our Admins are in the process of replacing the switch. Sorry for any inconvenience this may have caused.

The switch has been switched! This should hopefully resolve any poor network response time to/from the affected mysql servers.

Outbound mail from webservers

Posted 2 years, 2 months ago (June 8th, 2006 at 3:53 pm PST)

Some users have experienced an issue where mail sent from their web server or website has been stuck — no failure, but no delivery. We tracked the problem down to our outbound policy server, which has now been corrected. All mail should now be processed. Any mail that you did not get [...]
