The MySQL server Elmyra has been unresponsive to our attempts at resuscitation . This only affects databases on this 1 specific server. The administrative team is diligently working to get it back up with as little continued downtime as is humanly possible. Updates to follow as efforts progress.

After many more incremental improvements and configuration changes we’ve decided to upgrade our core router. The upgrade will increase CPU power as well as total throughput which should definitely alleviate many if not all of the problems we’ve been seeing lately.

We are having a few problems with a database that runs our mail authentication for imap/pop/smtp services. This problem is being looked into and should be fixed asap. We apologize for the trouble .
Swapping out the ram in a filer. It keeps hanging RSH connections, which is no good as quotas and other stuff can’t update! More to come in the next few days if this doesn’t fix it.
Beverly’s network is having some trouble, so I’m moving it onto new hardware.

This time, the network will be going down so we can run some thorough diagnostics on our core routers. I’m expecting the downtime to last perhaps 15-20 minutes, but there’s a chance of some residual effects lasting for a short while afterwards.
