Nailer’s sorta … nailed

The filer “nailer” crashed just a few minutes ago, and one of our technicians is on his way out to our datacenter, to bring it back to life. It should be back up in about 30 minutes. We apologize for the downtime!

Server Moves

It turns out that a few web servers need new digs too. Leave it to the MySQL servers to make everyone else jealous!
These servers are being re-racked and will experience some downtime:
flower, twizzler, barranca, krackel, fundip, and dimarco
Check this space for updates.

Venkman being moved onto new hardware

Webserver venkman failed this evening around 10:10pm pdt, we’re in the process of switching it onto new hardware and hope to have it running shortly.
Update: This was finished around 11:30pm.

Power update.

Our building has let us know that they’re planning a 2 minute power outage today at 6pm PDT (in about two hours) THAT WILL NOT AFFECT US IN ANY WAY.
(A different feed, a different grid.)
Nonetheless we’ll be here, just because you can’t be too safe.
They also say exactly the same thing for 9pm PDT [...]

Server hillmont is having problems.

Unfortunately the server hillmont has developed a problem and is currently down. We have an admin looking into the problem now. Stay tuned for more updates. We apologize for the inconvenience.

Mail Status

Good news! Based on testing and feedback from customers it appears we do indeed have the spunky mail cluster properly authenticating at this time. Our head of the administration team also pinned down a network issue that was causing slowdown for webmail users.

Rails Upgrade Deja Vu!

It looks like the security hole found yesterday was only partially closed, so we have to do another mandatory Rails upgrade.
