Quick battery swap (All done)
Posted (September 19th, 2006 at 1:24 am PST) by KellyI have to do an NVRAM battery swap in a filer really quickly. Downtime shouldn’t be longer than 5 minutes.
Update: All went well.
Tue Sep 19 08:49:56 GMT [kern.syslog.msg:notice]: The system was down for 264 seconds

Maybe this explains why the panel won’t load at all for me? (So I can’t send a support ticket the normal way).
FWIW, I’m in Europe, and last night the ’system’ had great performance; my sites are complex PHP stuff, (with embedded PHP apps), good work overall; I’ll sit tight, be patient, and cross my fingers. You folks always come through eventually.

…same here, panel doesn’t work. But the site worked out for me as hell last night. Now get the panel fixed…

Also chiming in that panel.dreamhost.com isn’t loading.

I still can’t get to the panel too.

Just so you guys know, this is not why the panel is/was inaccessible. I will look in to that now.
Also, Re Kirke: Glad you like the updates. When we have various other problems, stuff that is standard maintenance seems like it’s part of the overall problem.
In this case, a lead acid battery failing to hold its charge.

I can’t access the web-panel either, firefox has showed it as loading for the last 15 minutes but hasn’t done anything, yet everything else seems to work.

Haha.. gotta love using a NetApp for filers - not only are things easily swapped, but you get nice notifications like how long it was down. And firmware updates (to the drives, or the chassis) are Mostly Harmless.
