But, I do understand that getting your customers to support it makes sense. The toys to kids is great too. Although, let's be honest, none of this is really ending world poverty – but, then I suppose not all charities need to be about that. But, sometimes I wonder if we ended poverty if we would still have to worry about things like FSF – we certainly wouldn't have to worry about christmas gifts for children. As a side note, some people (me for example) think DRM is a good idea, and it actively protects the business interests of our commercial products. But then, the FSF wants me to give away my product for free, or else go out of business. Soliciting money that will buy toys for impoverished children is all well and good, but perhaps it isn't such a good idea to solicit money for a political group that wants to put Dreamhost customers out of business. Some of us have to work for a living, and can't afford Richard Stallman's blue-sky politicking. Your “charity” solicitation is deceptive.
