That's just one of the questions that is asked periodically and answered regularly (sigh) on the Dreamhost Discussion Forums (http://discussion.dreamhost.com). I suspect if it were asked in that *forum* (rather than just being another "off topic" blog comment), it would probably get answered *there* (again!), even though a visit to the forum and a simple search would probably reveal the answer without you even having to ask it. “How do you people know the name of the server you are on? While I suppose can be somewhat "therapeutic" to post those concerns as a comment on this blog, it is *not* a very good way to communicate your issues with Dreamhost (and they "warn" you to this effect on the blog's front page").
