One-click Updates - Mediawiki, Gallery, and Zencart

I’ve updated the the One-Click Installs for MediaWiki, Gallery, and Zencart, after repeated threats from Josh that he would bludgeon me with a Guitar Hero controller unless I did so. Here’s the changelogs:

MediaWiki 1.8.2
Gallery 2.1.2
Zencart 1.3.6

If you installed any of these applications using our One-Click Installer, you can upgrade it by logging in at panel.dreamhost.com, clicking on the “Goodies” tab and then on the “One-Click Installs” page, and then clicking on the upgrade link next to the appropriate application installation.

Thank you for upgrading the one-click installs, but you really must update the MediaWiki version for the DreamHost Wiki. Pretty please.

So at least one of you is a gamer, eh? =P

    Thanks for the heads up!

The MediaWiki 1.8.2 upgrade may not work - see above URL on my name, which shows 1.7.1 *after* performing this upgrade. I’ve logged this as DreamHost bug tracking # 1588297, but if you’re thinking of upgrading MediaWiki, I’d definitely suggest holding back for a few days until the bugs are ironed out.

It’s great to see these updates to 1-click! I will be using ZenCart on a site very soon, so I am glad that it’ll be the latest version.

My wiki also did not upgrade :(

The DreamHost support folks (Charlie in particular) fixed the upgrade problem for me. They reset the version that One-Click thinks is installed to 1.7.1, and one of the servers hadn’t picked the 1.8.2 upgrade so they did something to make it pick up the new version. I did the update again a few hours ago, then ran the two command line scripts as per http://wiki.dreamhost.com/index.php/MediaWiki#Upgrading_to_Mediawiki_1.7.1_and_PHP5 . It’s showing the right version (1.8.2) now in special:version and in the one-click panel, so all is good. If you had the same upgrade problem and the panel still shows the wrong version, you may need to ask the support folks to get the version the web panel thinks you have reset back to 1.7.1, and then do the upgrade again, and you should be right. — All the best, Nick.
