Quick battery swap in a file server (Done!)
Posted (November 9th, 2006 at 4:04 am PST) by KellyA backup battery just went in our file servers. I will be bringing it down shortly to swap it out. No data will be lost and expected downtime is 5 minutes.

Outage verified: We are actively looking into resolving it. 7 mins 37 secs ago: Outage first reported.
I wonder what qualifies an outage to be displayed on dreamhoststatus.com? Surely a “confirmed outage” should qualify right?
Looks like the two new support guys have really helped get things going. Only 132 open tickets - that’s way down from before.

THIS IS AN EMERGENCY WARNING
Our nuclear plant was running it’s software on that DreamHost shared server. We lost continuity in exploiting the passive radioactive decay. This has led to the Farnsworth-Hirsch fusors to explode, and neutron radiation has began spreading all over the area. Unfortunately DreamHost officers only managed to replace the battery in 174 seconds, 2 seconds more than the maximum sustainable time delay of 172 seconds.
There is not much time left before a chain reaction in the thermalization of U-238 reaches epidemic proportions and estinguishes life on the planet.
