Silent, do you mean just using Gmail, or actually switching the connection around to feed off Gmail's mail service? (I forget the name for it.)

If you meant to just use Gmail, that's not really a fix. There's always the issue of forgetting that certain people that only know the one address would be forgotten and then what? That's not good if the email address that WAS the main was just shut down. I thought about doing something like that, but like I just mentioned, I have loads of people and companies that I still do get emails from, but I don't remember who all has my email address.

Also, as I mentioned in another post's comments, there's NO way to block the new flood of spam that involves the continual use of a partial name or address base that changes. In their emails, the subject is always like "Hey, it's me, ..." with some random name, and that message changes as well to like "It's me again ..." It's really frustrating. I thought going into the Keyword Filter would help, but you can't expect the "*" astrick to hold out for fillers in this case.

mike: why don't you try using gmail hosted?
I'm using it for my hosting package at dreamhost. This way I can use google's spam protection feature. And 2 giga stored email. So i can save space for another purpose.

You might try asking on the forums. (discussion.dreamhost.com). Some issues are not server related and a bit of diagnosis can help get things going.

I have to assume that you've reported to support since there's not a damn thing anyone can do in here with the information you've provided.

Thank goodness! Vermouth and Wasabi have more RAM!

So, when will DH be addressing the fact that SPAM ASSASSIN is re-tagging known (and ranked SPAM) as "0" and letting it through to users? It's a known and acknowledged issue. When will it be fixed? When will it be publicly acknowledged so users can understand why SPAM ASSASSIN is effectively useless?

Yes. This is my personal "Holy Grail."
"No chance, English bed-wetting types"
