DreamHost Status

It seems whopper is getting dos’d (possibly ddos’d). It is currently doing about 120k packets per second and totally saturating the uplink on the switch. I am working on isolating the source so I can drop it at our router and upstream if needed. More on this as it develops.

We need to move a file server from one rack to another. The total downtime should be less than 10 minutes, sorry about the short notice!

After inspecting the machine for a while after having to restart it I noticed that it was rather low on memory - Patrick being the fine specimen of a human being that he is has run down to upgrade that for us right now. It should be back up within 10 minutes and healthier than [...]

The ganymede web server is being moved to faster and newer hardware. Services are already starting to come back up, I’ll post an update when finished.

A backup battery just went in our file servers. I will be bringing it down shortly to swap it out. No data will be lost and expected downtime is 5 minutes.

Squirt was down this morning at 2am for about 15-20 minutes. NFS was wreaking havoc, and the server was power cycled and has regained normalcy.
I’m sorry for the inconvenience to the users on squirt.

One of our file servers was rebooted to clear an error with its floppy drive, of all things, and is not properly coming back online. We are working on identifying the problem and resolving. No ETA currently.
