Posted 1 year, 4 months ago (December 23rd, 2006 at 4:12 am PST)

Galaga’s hardware just couldn’t take it anymore. I am moving everything to new hardware. This shouldn’t take more than an hour for all services to come back online. I apologize for the inconvenience.
Update: The move went well and everything is back up and running. Thank you all for your patience!

Posted 1 year, 4 months ago (December 21st, 2006 at 4:02 pm PST)

It looks like the memory on the web server Gradius has gone bad - reboots are not helping and the console messages indicate that this is the problem. We are taking it down to get that replaced and will have it up as quickly as possible (hopefully no more than 15-20 minutes).
Update: the machine is […]

Posted 1 year, 4 months ago (December 20th, 2006 at 11:05 pm PST)

As a reminder to those dedicated customers that were notified last week, your servers are being moved to our new datacenter! Expected downtime is stilll right around 2 hours.

We had a network hiccup just now (12:35-12:45 Pacific time) to the datacenter these servers are in. It was just resolved, total downtime was about 10-15 minutes.

Posted 1 year, 4 months ago (December 20th, 2006 at 1:14 pm PST)

Tonight around 6pm We will be turning off timed execution (cron) on Looney and Postal. We need to move where we store your crontab files, and the best way to do this is to simply turn off cron while we do it. 2 hours should be WAY overkill. Your crontabs will not catch up, and […]

Posted 1 year, 4 months ago (December 18th, 2006 at 9:34 pm PST)

Our support system had inadvertently held back all incoming support requests sent in via E-mail since sometime in Sunday. While we thought we had cleaned out most of the support requests by the middle of the day today, we later found out that there were 100’s waiting to still come into our support queue due […]

Tiny Tuckered Out

Posted 1 year, 4 months ago (December 18th, 2006 at 8:19 am PST)

The MySQL server ‘tiny’ is suffering from disks errors causing some databases to be inaccessible. Unfortunately, due to the nature of the disk errors, we have to copy all backups from the server over to a new MySQL machine. After the copy is complete, we will then begin the restoring databases from backups. During this […]
