Server Taffy Is Sticky Needs Replacement - Taffy back up

We have evaluated the machine while it is experiencing problems and we believe new hardware is required to fix the current issues the server is having. We are replacing the hardware right now and we will update this post as soon as the change is complete. Sorry about the problems for our taffy customers.

Sorry this took so long. After moving the server to new hardware the problem that was happening seemed to follow the machine. One of our administrators took a look at the server again and updated some of the networking configs. The server is up and working correctly now. Sorry this took so long to resolve, we’ll keep an eye on the server.

Yes, my webmail is down as well. I don’ know if I’m a “taffy” customer or not.

Taffy is an HTTP/FTP server and should not affect your mail or webmail. My site is on taffy and I’m still able to log into the webmail.
Your status shows that Taffy is back up, but the domain lpi.dreamhosters.com still is giving errors. As well as the other sites we have lpiusa.dreamhosters.com; lpiuk.dreamhosters.com and others. I will keep testing this, but hope you will let me know when this is resolved.

When I go to your lpiusa.dreamhosters.com I’m getting a database error for a Word Press installation.
You might want to check your Wordpress DB configuration settings.
I’m not sure what that means - I have not changed anything, it just quit working when the server went down.

hb, you do realize that webmail.domain.com doesn’t actually run on your server.
I keep getting error messages (and more worryingly so do my customers) when sending messages to my regular email address.

Yep, mine has been flakey all week. Looks like my site just went down about 10:00 est. Slow to no response from web server for users.
Lise, mine is doing the same thing, I’m getting all of my emails, but senders are still getting NDRs. Dreamhost, please advise of problem and when will be fixed!

@Lise switch off autoreply if you have it on or try to switch it on / off, perhaps there is something going on with procmail (as I believe DH uses)
My sites are down as well.. but my server is chicklet.. I believe. I can’t SSH in there any longer to verify. Is the whole operation down? Started with intermittent page loads.. then mysql connections dying.. to finally complete hosage.
All my sites were down about 20 minutes ago for about 15 minutes or more…. I have noticed my sites all down often lately and it’s getting very anoying. I first informed DH of this problem about the 24th of November but it was ignored pretty much so I guess my sites have been down a lot since then but I have not been online to check them. Please fix this soon!
duh.. didn’t think about doing a nslookup. My server is chiclet.dreamhost.com and sites there are down as well.
our server is also “chicklet”. down for over 2 hours now, and not a single notice as to what is going on

Sites are coming back up.. but it’s still spotty. I see 600+ open tickets in support.. so I’m sure it’s a rough day at Dreamhost NOC.

My sites on Taffy have been up and down often over about the last week. This is obviously extremely annoying and is costing me financially. Can someone give me some good news on the future of Taffy or should I be moving my sites to other more reliable hosts.

Upload speeds seem fine to this server but my download speed are terrible 40k max. Not my machine because I can download from nesbitt at over 400k.
