Server moves! (Done!)

In our continued efforts to localize our server clusters physically, we will be moving the following servers to their new home (down the hall in our new datacenter!)

(Update: Scratch narcissus and sektor off the list. They are the wrong formfactor for our new racks. We will be moving them to different hardware, however it will be on a future date. Your service should continue uninterupted!)

These servers, along with their mail servers, will be moved in batches. We will not bring all of the mail servers offline simultaneously, so email services should not be affected. The moves will start a little after 10pm Pacific time (-0800) Monday, Jan 8, 2007, and individual servers should be down for about 20 minutes. Check here for updates.

Update: Moved the following servers: atomic, postac, van, medina, kenobi, fud, dali, windu, cyrax, noid, shaka, lilac, frigga, strange, gradius, slaw. Due to illness with myself and my helper the rest of the moves have been post-poned until tomorrow night. We’re very sorry for the short notice.

All done! The servers have successfully migrated north up the hallway to our other datacenter.

I’m a new customer on bottlecap. Is anyone else here on that server and knows whether it has been moved already?

According to a search, bottlecap’s never been moved. In fact, bottlecap doesn’t appear in any of the dreamhoststatus messages.

As for the others, the move is not scheduled until next week (Monday), so the transition hasn’t yet begun.

Milk - Stats no longer run daily. You have to configure stats to run daily if you wish them. It may be necessary to contact support. They’d probably be happy to hear a non-email related question.

@Kathy Stagni, Eric, Adan: Server WILL be move on MONDAY JANUARY 8th… so no you site are NOT down.

Just a thought, read the whole announcement BEFORE posting.

Again, your site will be down for about 20 min, they are doing them in batch of around 4-7 servers.
