Posted (January 31st, 2007 at 10:48 pm PST) by PatrickAs a reminder to the dedicated customers e-mailed last week, your servers are being moved now to the LAX datacenter. Estimated downtime is right around two hours.

At a time like this, a little music is called for…
“Rollin’, Rollin’, Rollin’, get them dogies rollin’ …”
I second Dave – my two sites are both down, and I’m not on a dedicated server either.
ya, i have 4 sites that keep getting lost… but i can still access some media files but not the html or php files…? The site will once and a while pop back up for a little while.
@dave: I’ve been refreshing your site very 20 minutes for the last two hours and it seems to be consistently working fine.
my site is down and i’m not in a dedicated server, do you know how many time this situation will continue?
Sorry, a mistake, the problem is that only see the dobleww.com, but doesn’t work with the www, any idea??
sorry for my poor english
my two site are down again….my databases are dead…. please fix it, it’s my business, it’s really annoying!
CeRbErO – Check your control panel. It’s possible to set the domain to work both with www and without – and it can even magically add it.
Everyone else – Sorry you’re having issues, submit a ticket.
If you are experiencing a problem not reported here, check our web panel for more information.
(Please remember, posting in the comments here IS NOT an official way to contact DreamHost.)
Id advise that especially if youre asking about something entirely unrelated to dedicated servers.
When will you improve server speed? For about a week I got awsome speed and ftp time, but now it is very slow, i am getting over 325ms ping I used to get less than 36ms ping
Yeah, same here, a while ago, i get fantastic speed, but all of a sudden, everything drops to less than 10% the original speed, from like 800KB/s down to 40KB/s. Is someone attacking the servers?
Is this the place where I can ask unrelated support questions? Im just wondering.
Is that already over?
Wow, site is dead now. went from being the normal dreamhost slowness to nothing now. No email here, was I sposed to sign up for something?
@phil – It appears to be a problem with the httpd configuration. I´d recommend submitting a ticket, as the machine is up and running.
i’m in izze.dreamhost.com, the server is down for three, four hours .. i’m not in a dedicated hosting. :-/
Die all, My site not connect.
I hope you can fix sever help me oke.
My Sever use: wiggum.dreamhost.com
Is this the place where I can ask unrelated support questions? Im just wondering. Or should I just submit a ticket as that would be more fruitful?
Submit a ticket if you have a problem/question.
I’m not only getting 500 ISE errors on my site, but the panel is also inaccessible. What’s going on?
sorry for the sarcasm
12 hours later from submiting a panic report and still have not heard back, still open ticket, still broken site. I think i’m going to cry.

Hi Phil
Sometimes you can solve your own problem with the Bad_httpd_conf by following the following directions in the wiki

Yes, I can confirm that DL speeds are very slow now. It would get up to 800KB/s and usually be in the 100s. Now it’s around 20KB/s and sometimes even 10! Tracert shows that sometimes ‘ge1-L3.dreamhost.com’ pings about 250-350ms…but usually is around 90ms or so. (being on the east coast I think that’s about normal) even with the 90ms pings I’ll get the slow DL… so not sure what could be causing this. Even the mahine load is between 1.5 and 3.5 so nothing too outrageous there either. Anyway know what might be causing this?
Same issue here, even after being moved from Tejava to Milk, which is supposed to be a more stable machine, my download speeds only went from 60KB/s up to around 120KB/s when I used to get around 600-900KB/s two weeks ago. Perhaps one of the main wires is deteriorating? or Someone’s hacking the server? or Overall, the bandwidth is being overloaded? Any guesses? There is nothing wrong with php or mysql, so it seems to be a purely bandwidth centered issue.
60KB/sec is plenty fast enough.
Nice work dreamhost! Great Hosting!
thanks
Thank You!
thanks a lot..
Successful website

wow, my whole site just went down! um… im not on a dedicated server but it seems that it is not working any more. yikes!
