One-Click Install Update: MediaWiki to 1.9.2

Posted (February 8th, 2007 at 5:19 pm PST) by charlie

As always with upgrading MediaWiki, after the upgrade make sure to run those database upgrade scripts located in the /maintenence/ subfolder of wherever you installed Mediawiki. More specific instructions on how to do this are contained in the post-upgrade e-mail sent by our One-Click Installer Robot.

Mediawiki 1.9.2 changelog

To upgrade your One-Click Install of Mediawiki, log in to panel.dreamhost.com, click on the “Goodies” tab, then on the “One-Click Installs” link, and then click on the [upgrade] link next to your install of MediaWiki.

I am trying to follow the shell instructions I found here: http://wiki.dreamhost.com/index.php/MediaWiki#Upgrading_to_1.9.0

Anyone know why I am getting this message when running /usr/local/php5/bin/php update.php: “A copy of your installation’s LocalSettings.php must exist in the source directory.”

Thanks.

I just figured out the issue, posting incase someone else runs into it. It was a file permissions issue on the LocalSettings.php in the MediaWiki install directory.

This is a smooth upgrade, everyone needs to do it since DH is going to update PHP5 on all their servers…

Interesting side note: Firefox’s spell check rejected PHP, but was ok with PHP5. WTF, mate?
Ditto: It doesn’t like ok, either.

I just did this. very smooth indeed. thanks

Thanks for the instruction, hopefully i am able to upgrade it.

Great job done! Dreamhost is the best hosting you can find!
