Dreamhost.com DNS zone troubles

Ah, this is probably why Unix mail through pine using spork.dreamhost.com is suddenly not working, eh? Looks like there’s a little progress (spork appears now, and it didn’t a few minutes ago). Glad to see you’re on it. Hang in there!

Yea, I can’t use FTP either!! Argh! LOL

Okay, so I’m not the only one having FTP problems, after all.

I just bought my account so I figured I had killed something somehow x3;

I just love ya!
I had problems with http://FTP... so, I checked the status… I saw, there were troubles… What I find “normal”, may well happen…
What I love is:
1. It is displayed in the blog immediatelly, when there is a trouble… so, I trust you, I find this honest, qucik and useful.
2. It has been repared very quickly! Professional!

What sucks about this is that I used to host my web site (which is primary used by my family members across the US) at my house, but decided to move it finally to dreamhost, tell all my family members that it will be more reliable that my flakey internet connection. I hope no one is out there trying to view it right now.

I too can’t access any of my domains hosted with dreamhost right now. This is not a complaint, so much as confirmation that the problem DOES seam to affect hosted sites too, not just the dreamhost.com domain! I hope it’s resolved quickly.

THIS has nothing to do with your websites. THEY will WORK. YOUR mail will be there if you use mail.yourdomain.com to connect. If you use *.dreamhost.com, then it wont work. Regardless, you can always access your email from http://webmail.yourdomain.com.

If you cant access your sites, then something else is wrong!

Update: My hosted domains are now accessible again. I’m also able to ssh to skittle.dreamhost.com as well.

I still am unable to WebFTP or normal FTP at al; :/

Yeah, I’m getting mail bounces from a couple friends who are also hosted on Dreamhost with the same error message as Ale Muñoz.

Looks like everything is back to normal now. I can now access the panel and mails are not being bounced any more.

panel is not working at 1:50 PST.

laurel and fairfax still down for (web) FTP access as well..

spork.dreamhost.com still can’t be found from xenotime, so pine mail access doesn’t work (although I can work out how to change the path to the inbox, using mail.mydomain.com it refuses to access the folders, complaining that spork doesn’t exist.

Well, spork is accessible again from xenotime.

Whether the mail bounces or not depends on the way the sending mail server is set up - most should just queue the mail - in theory, even if the server was down for a day, then you should still get most (if not all) of your mail.

Cant access FTP and cant access Panel, i have no control over my sites ! they are out of control ! May God Help you all ! grrrr

I ‘ve found it near for four hours, what’s wrong with the domain? maybe the staff should add an other domain for backup, that we can use it by now.

I don’t know if this is site wide or just me, but I still can’t access FTP or WebFTP to update my website.

I bought a domain + webspace 2 days ago. I can access the control panel but not Wordpress (although it says it has been installed - I need to create the first user). Is that why I cannot do anything?

I cannot access my site by ftp I’m on Larchmont server and I have noticed that over the last couple of weeks there has been several times that I can’t access my site by the http://WWW. I have a membership site and I’m out of business if folks can’t access the site.

I wish you could get all issues with Larchmont resolved quickly.

I have been having serious FTP problems for the last few hours. The upload times out, but won’t cancel and it’s locking up my machine tighter than a drum. I’m pissed! This sucks!

I’m sorry to say that we have also had mail to our domain bouncing. Bad news! It’d be nice if the fact that user email did bounce could be acknowledged, if not prevented

Accessing our ecommerce site is almost impossible right now. Accessing by IP address works in all browsers, but contacting by domain name causes no content to be loaded, only blank pages with browser reporting the content had loaded. Only Safari responds with an error.
