Gradius web server having networking issues
The gradius web server is having trouble with the public network interface, an admin is checking it out right now at the data center. If it is found to be a web server issue and not networking hardware, the server hardware will be replaced. Please check back for updates.
– UPDATE 10:43:57 PST –
The admin was able to fix the issue and the server is back up and running now. If it reoccurs we will have to suspect the machine and therefore move it to new hardware. Sorry again for the downtime and inconvenience.

Anyone else been having awful fileserver issues since the downtime two weekends ago? For the past 10 days, most of the time my pages return an internal server error, and when the pages do load, it takes about 30 seconds per page — and usually the page won’t load fully. This is absolutely killing my business.

I am on ovaltine and this is happened to me as well. Sporadically, but still quite annoying.

All my sites still down. Resolved?

I’m curious about something: Have any of you actually posted support requests for these problems, or would you just prefer to whine?
Just asking.
Peace,
Gene

My sites are currently not responding via url or http://ftp.
They seem to only be down for a few minutes at a time then go back up for a while. Strange.

Yes, Gene. We have common sense. Thanks for asking.

>I’m curious about something: Have any of you actually posted support requests for these problems, >or would you just prefer to whine?
any suggestions regarding how to post a support request when my panel and email are both inaccessible?
didn’t think so.
smart alek.

Why is there only an announcement about one server if several others are having problems too? I’m on Milliken which has rebooted a couple of times today! It took a long time for my sites to come back — and now they’re slow as hell.

You can use the contact form here.http://www.dreamhost.com/contact.cgi
You can also send an email to support@dreamhost.com from your primary
email address and that works too.
It was on the wiki, but for some reason they edited it out.

I have no access to my email due to the problems at dreamhost.

http://www.dreamhost.com seems to be out so that’s not possible either.

I would suggest something amiss at your end, no panel or dreamhost.com inaccessibility here.

Things are getting worse and worse on DH, my sites have been down for most of the day, and the support ticket has in still unanswered 5 hours after I sent it, yet there no word on this issue here. Annoying, to say the least…

All of my sites are down and connect through http://FTP….On Rupee. Ridiculous. I believe someone said perhaps less yachting more forward thinking. Look ahead, stop reacting.

I too have been noticing the sluggish performance of my site as well this past week or so.
I decided to do a tracert to my site and found one hop that seemed a bit slow: (4.78.192.66 / ge1-L3.dreamhost.com)
I did a “ping 4.78.192.66 -t” at a command prompt and this particular unit seems to have the most “pumping and breathing” associated to it (4.78.192.66 / ge1-L3.dreamhost.com). I don’t know if it was a clue to part of the issue we are all seeing with our sites, or if it was nothing to be concerned with. Either way I thought I would post it here just in case it does mean something to someone at Dreamhost.
I also did a tracert to http://www.Dreamhost.com and got the following info. (I removed the first couple of hops for privacy purposes).

I don’t want to make light of your situation, but my sites all function perfectly. Try http://www.theparacast.com and click on the links to all the others. You should contact support if you haven’t done so, which is what I’d do in like circumstances.
Besides, what does any of that have to do with the single server talked about in this particular thread?
Peace,
Gene

Looks like it’s all going bad for you, RT, between Qwest and Level3. That’s not DreamHost’s fault, clearly
Peace,
Gene

Yes, the Level3 uplink has been rather faulty the past couple weeks. When sites first started coming back up after the power fix in the building, it seems that one uplink was much more saturated than the others. Strange, but it wouldn’t be the first strange thing to happen after a power outage.

Great job done! Dreamhost is the best hosting you can find!
