Backend Panel Maintenance Tonight

Posted (March 29th, 2007 at 11:57 am PST) by Josh

Due to some backend maintenance we will be performing, any actions you take on our web panel tonight (Friday, March 30th, 2007) between 3am and 6am PDT will not actually take effect until 6am.

Again, any changes will be queued and, starting at 6am, processed… they’re just not going to happen in the normal 5-10 minutes or so!

I love the new panel!

Keep up the great work!
The panel is already twice as fast as it used to be. :-)

how about a adding a backup option?

@dori…they do offer snapshot backups for you to access….see this page in the wiki

Hi
thanks mike! i didnt know!
but still i would be nice to have a quick backup option like on da.

What could be quicker than “Already Done?”

You dont write but this actions with Panel seems allways efecting webmail. So once again a day of problem ahead of us…

Not sure if this issue is related, but my site has been down for the past 6 hours or so: http://www.krunk4ever.com

I’ve checked to see if it was a system wide problem a few times, but it always comes back resolved telling me it’s not a system outage.

It resolves the IP fine, it even connects, but it always times out. At first I thought maybe it could be a database problem, but I tried to open an image file, and that fails. Email, FTP, SSH all work fine. I can connect to my control panel w/o any problems either. It’s just that trying to open any of my websites is timing out.

I was wondering if anyone has any idea what is going on…

Site has been down for several hours please advise.

Same happening to me. Any advise?

none of those things would be caused by this maintenance. please send in support messages.

I’ve started a thread on the discussion forums:
http://discussion.dreamhost.com/showflat.pl?Cat=&Board=forum_troubleshooting&Number=76785

Not sure if it’s the correct place. I’ve also filed a support ticket, but they probably won’t get to it for sometime.

// Site has been down for several hours …

Same here. I dropped a support ticket.

Several sites that I manage on yoda are also down. DH claims that it is not a system wide outage (based on the first support ticket that they closed) but I am still unable to reach my sites. Second support ticket has been filed…

It appears my site is now working again. Not sure what changed, but according to InternetSeer:

Recovery Alert

Your Web Site is no longer on error

Noon on Friday here (east coast), and my site cannot be opened. Help!!!!

Both of my sites have been down all day and I’m pissed!

What is up and why the heck can’t this “status” blog EVERY be accurate and up-to-date?

Site Temporarily Unavailable
We apologize for the inconvenience. Please contact the webmaster/ tech support immediately to have them rectify this.

error id: “bad_httpd_conf”

cannot login to panel! Just tries to load for several minutes. When is dreamhost going to stop having so many issues?

Also, my site is very slow.

But I can’t log into support to open a ticket.

Getting really tired of this

From Brazil, my webpanel it’s veryyyyyyyyyyy slowwwwwww
I don’t know more what to do,
I like dreamhost, and I won’t leave because every company has own problems…
I tryed Media Temple, and Dreamhost it’s really better.

If in dreamhost Tickets take 5 6 hours to be resolved, ha ha… I taked 28 hours to receive an answer from Media Temple.
I just created my account with them, not to leave dreamhost, just to try other host to evaluate them.
Dreamhost it’s more than other, with completely sure.

sorry for bad english (rsrsrs)

@cb: As of today, your site loads very, very fast.

Peace,
Gene

I hope you don’t fix the math… I seem to get unlimited credits for Suggestions, it says “You currently have 10/48 credits available.” but when I do the math I’ve already burned 59 credits AND I WANT IT TO STAY THAT WAY

I don’t know more what to do, I’ve checked to see if it was a system wide problem a few times, but it always comes back resolved.

Great job done! Dreamhost is the best hosting you can find!

Do I have to backup my files when you do the maintenance?
