@Tom

Flash-monkeys should never cast stones. If you were at least a talented flash-monkey than maybe I would let your apologist-ass slide....but, you are not ;)

[Wow, you guys need to read. This does not say redbull, this does not say mountiandew.

If you server is not Homer, then why post, you could be saving your words for a SERVICE TICKET!!!!!]

Genius, with some certainty, these folks probably have already filed a 'service ticket' and are probably simply at their wits end trying to gain secretive contact in any way shape or form possible to help expedite their issue.

[I am sick and tired of all the complaining people do that their server or email is down and it is not even related to the reported problem. If it is related, Im sorry your service is down, but you pay for shared hosting, If you MUST have 99.99% uptime, then get a dedicated server (although I cannot recommend DH for this, their prices are too high). If it is not related, then why are you complaining here thinking it will fix something. It will not, however, a service ticket might.]

If you are soo sick and tired, go away! Btw, I am not sure Mr. Schaer would be tickled knowing that you are using his website as a backdrop to 'flaming' people in here trying to vent. They have just as much right to vent as you do, Mr. Apologist.

[Finally, after my venting is done, let me help you understand infrastructures of data centers, as I manage the security in one, and the complete infrastructure in another.]

Good god :O....poor clients....poor poor clients :(

Please tell me that you are kidding? If you are not, as someone involved in the 'reverse engineering security field' myself, I would strongly caution your words and especially your linking strategies. There are wolves amongst us :p

[1. Web server serve web pages, they have nothing to deal with email or database problems.]

Untrue....depends on the configurations of those webservers.....even some enterprise scale companies do so to save money (not recommended though)

[2. Database servers do not have anything to do with static html pages, or email]

This is true, although, I fail to understand even a rudementary correlation here...

[3. Email Server/File Clusters can and will affect email and possibly web sites]

Backtracking already princess ;) see #1

[4. Central Database will not and will never affect your websites, however will affect email]

ERRR! WRONG! that would be a big gong, tom....ever here of something called .asp or .php? Hell, even .cfm sometimes is dynamically database driven.

[5. Network problems can affect every one of the above]

True.

[I will check back on this, I will be happy to enlighten anyone else who has questions about why things should or should not be related.]

'Enlightening' is not your bag, thomas, stick to security ..... LOL

[Also, this is not an attack at anyone (although I am certain some people will see it as that) it is an aggregate response the the ridiculous posts that have been on this blog since I joined over a year ago.]

We thank you for your 'aggregate response', however, we retort by sticking to our guns by simply re-stating that 'flash-monkeys' should never cast stones.

@tom, hey, I've a shared host at digitalus and pcextreme and they NEVER were down. Ok, they cost like 20 times more expensiver, however. If you buy a host, you want uptime. How cheap it may be, they are suppose to get your site up as long as you paid for it. It makes it understandable why it's down (cheap, a lot of features/ services), but people are still allowed to complain. In fact, dreamhost become better if you do. They see the meet the problem, they fixes and in the further they become the perfect host. At least I hope.
