Panel Slowness
One of our central databases is having some serious issues at the moment. This is likely causing the web panel to be somewhat slow while we address the problem. This only affects https://panel.dreamhost.com, all of your sites, email, and individual MySQL databases are unaffected.
We apologize for any inconvenience this causes.
UPDATE — A couple of code changes later and the MySQL server seems to be keeping up much better now.

May 14th, 2007 at 11:24 am
My sites are also “going” extremely slow.
Anyone else experiencing slow sites?
May 14th, 2007 at 12:06 pm
My sites are also extremely slow.
May 14th, 2007 at 12:11 pm
The problem with the central database would have ZERO effect on your personal sites. If you’re having issues, send a support ticket and I’m sure they can fix it relatively quickly. The central db is VERY separate from our shared db servers.

That sentence just doesn’t read right to me!
May 14th, 2007 at 12:18 pm
I think there needs to be a colon or period after ” https://panel.dreamhost.com “
May 14th, 2007 at 12:18 pm
Hmm, one of my sites was constantly on and off today.
And every time just before if was about to submit a ticket it worked again…..
Does anyone know what the maximum load is for the shared hosting plan? (cheapest deal i mean
May 14th, 2007 at 12:36 pm

May 14th, 2007 at 1:28 pm
@macbook tips: I been told that my site is hosted along with 1000 other sites! The number was between 1000 and 1100 but i cant recall the exact. What server are you on?
May 14th, 2007 at 1:29 pm
@James: I / We know… but this is the place i can find fellow users with same problems.
May 14th, 2007 at 1:52 pm
Um… Ok…
It’s still down for me.
The index.cgi page is spitting out all kinds of crazy “not for my eyes” html, debug code, javascript, database connection stuff… blah blah
How does one contact support if the support panel needs support?

James mentioned this above, but he made it sound like a minor nitpick when it’s actually a severe problem. The punctuation as written is extremely misleading: it reads at first as
“This only affects https://panel.dreamhost.com, all of your sites, email, and individual MySQL databases”
which sends people briefly into a tizzy until they decipher that what was meant was something like
“This only affects https://panel.dreamhost.com–all of your sites, email, and individual MySQL databases are unaffected.”
Or possibly less briefly if they don’t bother finishing the sentence.

No, my MySQL databases are down tonight. Worked around 7PM EST and have been down since about 8:30PM EST. They’re on, hang on … barkley:toan …really slow (not returning 20 records to me).
Furthermore my panel is really slow on fidget.

Not resolved where I am,
dreamhost.com
-Initial login fails and directs to a login page that complains about cookies, then you can login.
(Cookies are enabled on my system.)
-Second login page sits at “waiting for dreamhost.com” for about 150 seconds then starts loading the page.

May 15th, 2007 at 8:42 am
Recently I’ve found the panel really slow, but I haven’t seen any improvements - even after this.

Wazzup?
db server is down (mysql.invisiblepresence.com)
MySQL: Too many connections in /home/.josefina/dance/
May 15th, 2007 at 10:25 am
ahhhhhhhhhhhhh…and the status says ‘resolved’? This is really a pain in the arse right now…what was once supposed to be a quick fix is turning into a nightmare. The dreamhost panel has been slower than all the others out there for some time. I’m soooooooo wishing that wouldn’t be the case…anyone…please?!?!?
May 15th, 2007 at 10:27 am
Panel is still slow. This issue is not resolved even though the status says it is.
May 15th, 2007 at 10:28 am
Idem.
mysql server is down in mysql.foro.mimecanicapopular.com and mysql.micanicapopular.com (this last i can’t login)
May 15th, 2007 at 10:34 am
Panel is CRAWLING. Most of the time returns page source code because of a MYSQL error inserted into the top of the HTTP stream. Duh!
May 15th, 2007 at 10:35 am
Control Panel is still down:
Software error:
Can’t call method “query” on an undefined value at /usr/local/ndn/web/dhwebpanel/index.cgi line 65.
For help, please send mail to the webmaster (support@dreamhost.com), giving this error message and the time and date of the error.
Top notch performance, Dreamhost. Really.
May 15th, 2007 at 10:38 am
This panel issue is *definately* not resolved.
May 15th, 2007 at 10:40 am
Why do you lie? Lying makes me sad in my blood pump.
Heinz ketchup pours faster than the CPanel. Also can’t add domains… It lets me go through the motions but then they don’t show up in the list.
Make it go!!
May 15th, 2007 at 4:21 pm
CPanel is awful. I’m sure glad Dreamhost doesn’t use CPanel.
Try Hunts ketchup — much better.
May 16th, 2007 at 5:36 pm
It looks as though this problem is back. Sometimes taking upto 3-4 minutes to load a page in the panel.
May 16th, 2007 at 6:10 pm
yea, super slow now… I wish the panel was distributed across clusters, but that must be a pain in the arse to implement
May 16th, 2007 at 10:55 pm
wtf! My sites are dead and the panel is dying too!
May 16th, 2007 at 11:03 pm
It shit like this as to why I have not migrated my real production money making site over to Dreamhost yet.
May 17th, 2007 at 10:16 am
getting this error trying to connect to panel:
db->do: can’t execute ‘REPLACE INTO session (last, created) VALUES (NOW(),NOW())’ : Deadlock found when trying to get lock; try restarting transaction
May 18th, 2007 at 10:50 am
I’m getting the same error message. I can’t even get into the panel to close my account! How’s that for irony?
May 30th, 2007 at 2:34 pm
Hey guys, what is going on with the panel. Its over a week. Me and several clients cannot make it in at all, and there doesn’t seem to be any notice here that problems are going on… is it just me.
