I still have my dreamhost service since i paid for two years up front - never again will I pay up front! I've switched my sites to mediatemple and hav e been with them for the past four months. It's been truly great with no issues or downtime whatsoever. It's worth the extra money just to not have to worry about these issues. Bye bye dreamhost...

Anyone thinking about moving 1and1 is headed for trouble. Overpriced with horrible support when it is needed at critical times. Also the Backend system is horrible and the features are not there.

Moved my main site over to new host last night. This outage hit just after the updated DNS settings took effect.

However, my DNS is still hosted by DH and I don't seem to be experiencing problems??

I HATE DREAMHOST. I have never suffered so many problems and downtime and moreover LAME excuses shrouded in cute-hip language as if that makes it ok. Interesting choice of marketing up now at dreamhost.com. Are those the guys fixing our load balancers? Could be that's the problem.

$97 is a good reward for a referral. No wonder so many people suggested I switch to dreamhost. Wish I never did. Too bad the problems at dreamhost have been so many my conscience has prevented me from referring any new customers myself. Wish the people who referred me had the same conscience. I will continue to do what they should have done and strongly recommend looking elsewhere for web hosting if reliability is even a modest concern.

Dreamhost, you lost me. Most of my sites are already hosted elsewhere. I've been testing my new web host for over 6 months and as of yet my server there has yet to go down once. I was careful, and then lazy, to transfer my most important sites to my new host. These latest problems at dreamhost have been the kick in the ass I needed to complete the transition. I cannot afford not to.

Good riddance dreamhost. Wish it could have been a better experience.

"Tony, Doug!

I understand the motivation to end the Dreamhost nightmare, but be very careful if
you do it by moving to 1and1. I was with them for 4 months with a couple of sites last
year and that was 3 months and 3 weeks too long. If you run into any technical issue
that’s not on their very short script, you are screwed. And even if it’s very obvious that
it’s their problem, you will get no help whatsoever. Beyond the very obvious problems,
they become stunningly incompetent almost immediately.

Stay as far from 1&1 as you possibly can."

Yeah, see this is why I'm hesitant to plug 1and1. They work for me because I generally try to figure everything out before contacting anybody for help and as I stated earlier, I just keep my dinky sites on them and I don't try anything too fancy. I wouldn't move all of my sites to 1and1, though. I keep the important ones on SiteGround.

Another thing I wanted to point out about Dreamhost is how often I hear "you get what you pay for". It seems to me that most budget hosts have plans at around $5 a month or so. When I moved to Dreamhost, it was a big decision because it meant that I would be paying MORE per month. I figured the service and reliability would be worth the extra money. I might suggest saying "you DON'T get what you pay for because you could pay half anywhere else and experience 99% uptime".

This shows the status as being resolved. Why then are some of my systems still down?

I have multiple sites and some work while others do not. Is this really resolved or are you just saying this?

Whats new, the service from Dreamhost and the LIARS that run it is and has been abysmal from the start. Caught out time and time again lying, and the response - we are not going to answer your tickets now (sulk sulk sulk) Why should the technology that they use be any different. I have been with a different webhost now for 85% of the time I made the grave error of signing up for 2 years with these idiots. Glad to finally see the back of them, and in fairness, I hope it costs Dreamhost both LOADS of money and LOADS of clients, then maybe they would understand what they have done to me time after time in the past.

Good luck to anybody who can find alternative RELIABLE hosting, if anybody does need it, give me a shout for tailored packages customerservice@hostrevolutions.com first mth FREE

All legal content allowed and personal TRUE 24/7 support. Unlike Dreamhost.
