I use mainly Gmail, and find that it is the most stable / reliable of all services. However personalized webmail makes your business seems more professional. For the rest of us, that appreciate owning our data, we use our own mail servers (or at least mail servers we pay for in order to legally own our data - like the mail server we pay for at Dreamhost or any other pay host for that matter). Google apps are cool when you don’t mind giving up ALL rights to ALL data transfered through Google servers.

For the rest of us, that appreciate owning our data, we use our own mail servers (or at least mail servers we pay for in order to legally own our data - like the mail server we pay for at Dreamhost or any other pay host for that matter).

And guess what, web mail makes that situation a whole lot more portable.
