Website down again. Is it related?
I hope it will be back up soon.
Ben
Webmail is also down. I know that this is not an official way to contact Dreamhost, but what with the panel being down, AFAIK there *is* no official way.
Mine is down at the moment.Just as I want to get some work done.
Curses.
Can’t get into web panel due to maintenance. All my websites are working.
Like the temporary page! lol
Yeah neither panel nor panel2 seem to work, get a “DreamHost Status” message on each page D:
This sucks. Right when I actually need to use the webpanel and I’m on a short clock.
My Site is not working…. :Please help me
[izze]$ uptime
06:49:12 up 3 days, 16:26, 3 users, load average: 213.17, 182.95, 119.80
[izze]$ ps
I like the temp page too. It showed up as just code. Lol. They could design one for when maintenance is being done. Any ideas how long this is going to be down? They had the same problem yesterday. Maybe another load balancer broke.
Having some E-Mail issues and cant access panel ..
Panel keeps loading just not showing anything. The first time in a month I actually need to use the panel. UGH!
My panel is slightly working. All basic crappy looking html. It looks like notepad, lol.
Website down again! please help …!
Now its working, fully. Thank you DreamHost.
Panel still down here.
I just get it as if its missing CSS or something.
text etc but it doesn’t really work.
shows the last page i visited (a week ago or what ever).
No images.
Its alive now.
All of my dynamic content is down (PHP, CGI, etc.) Since the panel is down, I can’t report the outage.
The webserver logs say:
(11)Resource temporarily unavailable: couldn’t create child process: 11:
Panel was down but it seems to be back up again!
Everything is down.
What is the point in you people reporting that “Its alive now.”
Its been listed as an intermittent problem, its likely it’ll be back!

Getting 500 Internal Server Errors on my sites
Getting Timeouts
This is now getting beyond a joke.. if it’s not one thing it’s another..sheesh!!
I just hope you can resolve this problem and access to MS can be achieved soon, before
I lose all tolerance.
server brisk down. All my sites down.
Getting 500 internal errors on all my pages… wats happening
to be bored to death
Why does DH have SO much downtime. And its always some excuse ‘This broke & that broke’ Well maintain it properly so it doesnt break?
Hmmm, says this problem is fixed? My sites are all still down, is it a different problem causing that then?
UPDATE 7:45am - The problem has been resolved. We apologize for the inconvenience.
MY UPDATE — The problem isnt solved. Both my sites are STILL down. I dont want an apology. I want uptime
I confirm that my websites are still also down.
This is very unpleasant.
Hope you’ll fix this asap and make your possible to make such situations not happen again.
I’ve experienced many downtimes and expect a better service from Dream Host.
Please solve the problem behind all those incidents.
Thanks
It’s getting harder to explain to my coworkers why, on a Monday morning, we have no email or website.
Not resolved….I can ssh into my server but it has no record of me…no files, no directories!
Still cannot ftp into monster.
Still can’t pull up my sites!
Fun fun fun fun fun fun fun fun fun fun funfunfunfunfunfnun

My sites are all still down!
So many people with a 500 internal error, yet no status update on that? Clearly it’s not a “webpanel” problem, so what gives? This has been going on since yesterday!!
Seems to be working.
I’m crossing fingers for this situation to last a looooooong time
Thanks for the effort fixing this incident.
I hope you will also fix the problems behind this.
Cheers!
Well, I am at least getting a different error now…problem loading page rather than 500 internal error….so an indicator someone at DH is actually aware and working on it?
I don’t understand why they haven’t updated this page, isn’t that the point of it?
lol update what? Is says that it’s resolved, so nothing to update!
Fact is that I don’t have any dynamic access, and most of my (30+) sites seems to be verry slow…
Update the blog, make a new entry if it has nothing to do with the previous problem.
I thought that was the point of this status page, so if your sites are down you don’t have to get frustrated & keep refreshing and wondering what’s going on and having to contact support etc.
the problem seems to be intermittent. site cannot be accessed again…
@Starlet, you have a point. Dreamhost guys should at least let us know whats really going on out there. Its kinda frustrating that they will post that the issue has been resolved yet a lot of us here are getting problems.
It’s funny (or frustrating?) that I had this downtine problems several times when in fact I only work on my site once in a while when I have free time, like 3 or 4 times a month. I dunno if its just bad timing or this kind of problems is happening more often.
Resolved? Why are all my sites down then?
Site still down as others already explained
Site is Again down………………
Mine have been down constantly been down for almost 4 hours now and not a word from dreamhost
From what I’ve seen, sites are having trouble with PHP. Plain HTML pages work fine, but PHP anything is slow as crap.
My sites with shared IPs are fine, but ones with fixed IPs are down. Check both!
“I thought that was the point of this status page, so if your sites are down you don’t have to get frustrated & keep refreshing and wondering what’s going on and having to contact support etc.”
No, that isn’t the point of this status page. This is a place for system-wide announcements. If you are having an issue, the FIRST place to go is the Contact Support part of the web panel. If the panel is down, try sending an email to support@dreamhost.com from the email address that is registered with your account.
If you haven’t reported to support that your site is down, how can you expect any action? DH doesn’t monitor the comments here - the ONLY way to make sure that your problem is being looked at it to report through proper channels.
You should be happy that they choose to tell us anything at all. Most hosting companies don’t.
Well I contacted the support some minutes ago because I noticed that my side is somewhere between being very very slow and down. Now I read, that the problem is already known and still existing. But why the hell does this page say, that the problem is resolved. I looked up all known places to find information. Am I really expected to lookup all comments to find the information i need???
Most of comments are ridiculous. My sites had over 99% uptime lat year and if I had any problem I was contacting Dreamhost and answers have been usually pretty quick, so instead wasting your time here, contact support team, just like @brasscrest suggested.
What is so hard to understand about this: The panel has absolutely no connection with your sites being down.
?
Some of you would literally think that if your site went down while there was a commercial on TV for Burger King, that there would be a connection between the two. And when you thought that, it wouldn’t be any more/less stupid than when you continue to blame it on every other unrelated thing you can think of.
You also need to learn how to work the little search box at wiki.dreamhost.com. Some of the problems people ask about here have been answered hundreds of times, so people take the time to write up an article about it.
Example: If those of you that typed “bad_httpd_conf” here had typed it in the wiki search box instead, you’d have a solution to your problem.
Want discussion? Then why the hell would you be cluttering up the comments section of a blog instead of going to the forums, which are there for that very reason?
It is so simple. There are always 5 choices of where to go for different reasons: Status site, blog, forum, wiki, or submitting a ticket to support.
Is it really that hard to figure out which sites are best for which purposes?
Of course, I’m not addressing the large number of people that are just trying to turn this into a useless link farm… but just the people that actually have something to say or ask.
Also: Submitting a ticket to support, then waiting a whole 10 minutes before whining here is NOT going through the proper channels. There is no reason to say that support hasn’t answered unless 24 hours have passed.
In my site MySQL is having some problems

Have you checked with a psychic or palm reader to see if they know what the problem is? If they can’t help out, maybe you could try contacting Dreamhost support and see if they can be of some assistance.
Miss Cleo doesn’t work at Dreamhost.
Keep it up guys
panel is up for me all the time when I’ve logged into it.
LMAO @ Mike
I still can’t access the control panel.
I still can’t get access to mine either. SSH is also PAINFULLY SLOW.
panel down most of the time for me. FTP has be intermittent for days. Sometimes it works fine, sometimes I average 0.3k/s sometimes I can’t connect at all.
Oh man you’re killing me here! I was in the middle of writing a blog when you went down!
All of my dot coms are down, my mail is down as well. You ruined my lunch
Panel is down again….
Can’t get into the panel, just get a message to enable cookies. I haven’t change my browser settings and it worked before. Deleted the cookie anyway and no help. I doubt it’s me…
ahh, forget it! bypassed the homepage and went straight to panel and it worked! go figure.
I lost access to like 5 dreamhost web id’s that i used have privileges for. It makes it impossible for me to edit my clients control panels!!!

Mines is fine so far… everyone stay off!
