Swarthy Server Move Reminder!
This is a duplicate post to remind everyone that we’re moving a couple dozen servers to our LAX facility tonight:
Due to space and power constraints in our primary datacenter we are moving the entire shared cluster “swarthy” to our LAX facility at 11:00PM PDT, this Friday night, July 13th 2007. All webservers, mail servers, file servers, and MySQL servers in the swarthy cluster will be unreachable during the move, which we expect to take approximately 5 hours.
The swarthy cluster contains the following web servers: andor atomic cyrax dali dimarco frigga fud genki gradius hug kenobi lilac limbo-swarthy narcissus noid postac rock samus sektor slash slaw soda squirm strange thorin tron van vidar vlad wiggle zebes
If your site is on any of these servers this status post applies to you. Also, if you check the “Account Status” button on the upper right hand of the webpanel ( https://panel.dreamhost.com ) you should see your cluster under the section “Your Email Server:”.
We do apologize for this inconvenience. Rest assured we will do everything possible to keep downtime to a minimum.
If you have any questions regarding the server move, please contact our support team.
Update: 4:20AM: Most if not all services have been restored. Please contact support if your site is still down.

Maybe it’s just me, but I would have waited to start such an endeavor until after the clock passed friday the 13th.

All of our sites are down. Including endymion.com and kporterlaw.com Those sites are on Samus, not Swarthy. Our email is also down, it’s on Swarthy.

Still down. It is now 0940 Central Time and all domains and email accounts are down down down, including preller.us, 384thbombgroup.com, and winjack3.com. Web server is slash, email server is swarthy.

All of my sites are down, too. How can you have a status site that says this is resolved when it so clearly is not resolved. I’m starting to see why people refer to you as Nightmare Host.

I can get to my sites, but it appears the MySql servers are down. Also, still can’t get to the email servers either. (torbie.com, davehornephotography.com)

Me too. Can somebody please contact DH for me and find out how I am supposed to submit a support request when I cannot log on to DreamHost. All our sites are down, just like Dr. Ashok Koparday. I can’t log on to his sites either, tho I can log on to some of the others on this post. I can’t log on to any of our sites, cannot collect mail from any of our sites, cannot log on to webmail.dreamhost.com, cannot log on to the DH main site, the DH panel, the DH blog, etc. Does anybody know if this is a DH problem, a problem with my isp, with my computer, or what? Would appreciate if somebody who has access to DH support will let them know. Our sites are on the haven server, which isn’t listed on any of the posts, so maybe their problem is much wider than it appears. Thanks. ed

It looks like you guys didn’t take any cron scripts in the move. You should be more careful of this in the future…..
