Whopper downtime
An admin is currently enroute to the data center to manually restart the server. Unfortunately, I cannot provide a precise ETA at this time but will post an update once more information is available.
Update: Unfortunately, it looks like there is a hardware issue. We are currently moving it over to new hardware. Another update once this is resolved!
Final Update: The move to new hardware went well. All that’s left are some configurations which are expected to take no longer than 30 minutes. If you’re experiencing any lingering issues with your service please contact support!
Thank you for your patience.

For anyone trying to use webftp:
Seems to work when “Passive Mode” is unchecked. Not sure why.

@ Chris : “Is this why my site keeps timing out?”
That’s a tough one. Maybe you should consult Captain Obvious.

This qualifies as “low severity”? Unbelievable. Glad I decided to move my business elsewhere, where people care about downtime and don’t label it “low severity.”
August 5th, 2007 at 2:11 am
You’re still having problems. Even the Panel has crawled to a halt.

I’ve read all the posts and am having issues to. My storefront I’m working on isn’t accessable, and at this writting, can’t login either by webftp or with my own program. Just tried to go to my site and got the 404 error. I thought this issue was resolved Sat?

@Anonymous Coward - You misunderstand the definition of “severity” as it relates to this blog - it has nothing to do with the nature of the outage, it has to do with how much of the overall DH network is affected. One server out of 1,500 is low severity.

As an Engineer and potential customer, 1 out of 1500 is not terrible.
Looks like the downtime was not awful. Been with godaddy for a few years, they too had server problems on occasion. Nobody’s perfect. Hence the 99.9% uptime, there’s the 1%.
I guess the big question is, exactly how long was the outage. An even bigger question, with 1500 servers, no one was there? I could use a part time job in an air conditioned server farm!
Sincerely,
Server1499

I love Whoppers! I’ve only recently begun eating Mike & Ike, which I cannot believe I missed when I was young. Thanks for the update though!
