Daniela, your little blog IS as important as any other: we are paying DH and trusting them to provide a good service, which they do in most part but I also agree with Grrrrrrrrr - this does seem to be a regular occurrence.

Okay.... i'm really losing my patience here. ANOTHER half a work day is shot to hell because all my sites and email are STILL down. Can you guys PLEASE solve your hardware issues??? This has been a weekly occurrence for months now. I hope that all the photos on the home page of the staff having fun and partying is not indicative of why these issues continue to happen.

I think Bruce is right. My little Italian blog is not so important, and here people are on holiday, but two line with some information would be useful...
Now you can only read that the db is ... missing. :(

(my Eglish is not so good, sorry, but I think you understand what I mean)

This is a real pain. My main site was recently chosen as one of the top ten travel blogs in a major UK broadsheet, and whilst I can live with this being down a couple of hours in middle of night, I can't accept it being down at the weekend. Here in the UK we're 8 hours ahead.

Why can't you mirror our sites so that when problems like this occur there's some sort of back.

Also, the ability to customise the notice on our sites would be appreciated too, rather than 'Untitled' title bar and the tern: database unavailable.

Would be good if we could have the name of our site and message we could customise such as: [site name] is down for some scheduled maintainance. Will be back shortly. Thank you for your patience.

I'm on mickey and everything is down. Is this a related problem? Perhaps a sev: Medium is an understatement? ALL my sites are down, even non database reliant sites. Webmail is also down.

Come on dudes....

Er, I mean my website's on ikari and the database I'm having trouble with is on madcat. But you probably figured out that's what I meant.

I have a similar question; I'm on Ikari. I've had problems since the file-permission problems mentioned earlier, that I reported two days ago in the morning. A 'chgrp' was necessary to get my CGIs working again, and now the database seems to be offline.

-- But isn't the database server listed in the control panel? (Looks.) Yes, my website's on madcat. I clicked on Status: MySql Usage and saw which servers my databases are on. You should try it...
