RESOLVED Emergency webmail maintenance.
Posted (August 28th, 2007 at 4:02 pm PST) by jordanWe are currently experiencing some strange behavior with our webmail service. At this time we will be performing emergency maintenance on a few of our webmail servers. No downtime is expected , but there is a chance that there will be a few short outages. We apologize for the inconvience and this post will be updated as soon as the webmail changes are complete.
Update 7:05pm by Jamesh: We finished fixing this around 6:35pm this evening, since then everything looks ok. If you’re still having any trouble with email or webmail please contact support with details.

so what else is new?
Oh so THAT’S why everyone was complaining to us about their mail not working today.
This must be why I can’t seem to create a new email address right now as well?
Hmm.. Guess thats why my email just went down..hope its back up soon..Keep up the Good Work
Seriously…….make my life difficult why don’t you
Oh, I see! I was wondering. Keep up the good work. Ignore the thankless whiners. I
…heart DreamHost
Can’t check my email . Hope you work good to resolve
Ignore the thankless whiners??
Um..if this was a FREE service..maybe Id think that way. But for 120 dollars a year..I expect 99.99 percent mail uptime.
I’ve had intermittent downtime for weeks now, but this is ridiculous! I hope this fix solves the problem for good!
“I hope this fix solves the problem for good!”
HAHAHA yeah right, good luck with that.
Huh, both webmail and regular IMAP are down for me, which has been true for about five hours now. I’d say this issue isn’t exactly fixed. But, hey, at least my sites are up so we know it’s not belair having a problem.
Hey Angry, why are you trolling the DH boards? Aren’t you over at MediaTemple now?
I can’t access to my emails, I have this problem in the last hours, but yesterday I can access…
I still have no access to mail , always ask passwords to register to network.
Waiting for good news
I had better uptime when I kept my web and mail servers under my desk at home….
Yep. we’ve had some email outages lately. Right now, too.
webmail is working fine for me.
pop3, however, not so much. getting the login rejection on my domains, too.
come on, guys, downtime happens, i know that. but it’s frustrating when it’s the same kind of thing over and over and over again.
Anyone else still having problems? A client called me and said their webmail works fine, but when they try to check on apple mail it keeps requesting their email password and rejecting it.
Still having webmail problems………………….
Problems, problems… every week…
webmail, pop3 …
Right now, nothing will delete. it’s weird– neither imap on thunderbird nor webmail, and I’ve tried a different computer. it’s you.
I cant recieve or send any email, this sucks -.-.
Still having webmail problems………
Can’t send mail through mail client (IMAP, SSL)…
always a problem…this or that… time to go away?
Thanks for solving the problem!
Anybody see messages return from the ether today? (i.e. is there a mail queue that’s slowly backfilling and delivering messages eventually?)
Anyone still having problems or are my problems down to something not-DH?
I still can’t send or receive emails using Apple Mail Pop3. Tried IMAP set up and that too doesn’t work. This has been a week without being able to check through Apple Mail. Treo phone w/IMAP still works, as does Squirrel Mail log-in. Major pain. Please fix or advise how to fix.
Hello,
After returning from vacation, have started to see strange messages each time our mail system processes cron jobs (every 15 to 20 minutes or so). I’ve submitted also a support ticket. This happened sometime within the past week or so. Not sure what is a self-signed “certificate” but it keeps submitting this each time cron is processing.

ERROR MESSAGE:
Whilst trying to process bounces for list ‘Dance Entertainment’ the details provided (username, password and / or email server name) are

The error message received when trying to process bounces was:

You suck.
I question how resolved this issue is:
