DreamHostStatus.com Back up!

The secondary network DreamHostStatus.com (this site!) is hosted on was saturated due to a large increase in DNS traffic. After working with our provider for a few hours we’ve got it back up and we’re working to make sure the network saturation does not return.
Now to explain the DNS Outage itself.

The admins are investigating a mysql issue with webmail which is causing downtime. We are already on the case and it will be fixed up shortly. If any further information becomes available we will update this post, so check back for updates.

RESOLVED Webpanel Maintenance, August 15, 10PM PDT

We will be performing some maintenance on our central databases beginning Wednesday, August 15 at 10PM PDT and ending 3 hours later at Thursday, August 16 at 1AM PDT. The expected downtime within this window is 2 hours. This will bring the DreamHost Webpanel, as well DreamHost-provided Squirrelmail offline.

RESOLVED LAX connectivity issues

We are currently experiencing some difficulty with our network links to our LAX datacenter. This is causing issues with the swarthy, looney, and frisky clusters, as well as dedicated servers.
Our network engineers are looking into this and we will have a resolution as soon as possible.

filer trouble

One of our filers took the morning off and has just recently been kicked back into service (via reboot). This would have caused downtime for those hosted on tron, thorin, frigga, genki, wiggle, slaw, andor, lilac and perhaps a couple more. This also caused a little email back-up that is now clearing up.
