MySQL Server Moves
Posted (September 5th, 2007 at 9:43 pm PST) by PatrickThree MySQL servers need to be ‘re-organized’ in our Alchemy datacenter. This requires shutting them down for a brief moment. This will occur tonight around 22:30 PDT. The three MySQL servers affected are:
tweety, woodstock, and topogigo
This will affect a small number of users in the randy, spunky, and janky clusters. Check this space for updates.

Fair enough. (Thanks for the short notice, too.)
I would have felt better with a little bit more of a notice, sicne my site is new, mysql ran, and trying to get popularity after my last server went offline for a week.
:/
Thanks for getting this completed so quickly~
I’ll be glad if it comes back by Friday night :). No business impact for me till that time. My site is on Spunky (what a naming convention
)
> topogigo
ROTFL, that’s funny, for those who don’t know what it is:
http://www.topogigio.it/
(slightly misspelled, there is a missing ‘i’, I suppose it is for the english pronunce)
To me this doesn’t seem resolved at all. All my sites are down and have been for more than 3 hours. On top of that half of the control panel doesn’t work, so it’s hard to even log the faults with support.
Agreeing with DS, I’m having problems viewing the panel, and serious delays when trying to FTP / view web / email using my sites at the moment.
I know the DH team won’t read this, but I’m venting… and I *never* vent here for the very reason that it is non-productive. But this time, after weeks of one issue after another knocking my sites and/or email offline, I guess I’m feeling a bit PO’ed. It’s the absurdity of it all… even the panel is down?!?! Good golly, get it together boys.
I wish they wouldn’t write resolved if the situation isn’t quite resolved yet…
same here. mysql errors. i too, wish they would only change status to resolved when they know EVERYTHING is up and running/back to normal.
mysql down and up many time today.
now all down.
dream sucker!
I’m not convinced this is affecting these servers alone - catbert is running like a dog yet again. It pretty much makes any MySQL sites unworkable like this…
I’m half way through writing a database-less CMS - currently uses a bunch of formatted text files, but i may be porting it over to XML. It’s becoming a necessity - the web servers are generally alright, it’s the MySQL part that lets the service down (and i’ve had discussions with DH staff regarding that very issue).
The only reason i won’t buy a DH Private Server is because for me, the MySQL is the weak link that needs a boost of juice, and not particularly the web server.
Karl, something is up with my server too. I can’t remember my sql name, but it’s not the ones listed above, and my PHPbb forum is not connecting to the db.

Good luck. Hope it comes back up soon!
