Moving hades onto new hardware

Posted (October 13th, 2007 at 8:55 pm PST) by JamesH

The webserver hades has experienced a disk drive failure and is being moved onto new hardware. No customer data was lost, and the new hades should be online within a half hour.

Update 9:50pm: hades should be all up and running again, please contact support if you have any sites hosted on hades that aren’t working.

My current site on inko is down, Would this effect my Site at all?

Thanks for the hard work, guys! My site is down, but I think that it’s because you just aren’t finished yet. Good to see you guys are fixing the problem! Hooray for Dreamhost!

DreamHost has to be one of the best hosting companies there is.

My website still got many system errors, i contacted technician team. Now waiting for their response.

So far DH is the best hosting i ever experienced. The support is always so quick and reliable.

Thanks.

Danny

Perhaps The Lord was trying to tell you something about the name of that server?

ajajajajajajjajajajaja

Dreamhost closed my account hostting I paid for a year.
I got no right to take my backups or anything. Kick me repaid the remaining months.
This is a serious job? .
If I believed http://www.yashira.org notes.
And I take publicly requesting that you give me my backups.

@PescaoDeth: If I look at that site you are linking I really understand why they took it down. It was a good decision on DH’s part.

At least you caught it and fixed it before it all went to hell (geddit?)

Sorry, I had to.

I am entitled to my backups? .
I was not stealing anybody, because you rob me of me?

i need my backup files!!!

I have the right to withdraw my backups! ! ! .
I was not stealing anybody, because you will give me the right to deprive my backups?

@PescaoDeth - You are only entitled to what is yours. Your account was terminated for cause by DH - you obviously violated the TOS (which is a contract).

If you feel your rights have been violated, hire an attorney and go through the courts, instead of posting here. I doubt that you have much of a case, however.

@PescaoDeth - If you wanted “backups”, you should have arranged for “backups” - especially if you are gonna violate a TOS agreement which tells you very clearly that *you* are responsible for backing up your data.

Generally for a backup to be worth much of anything it has to be available when you need it. The file you put on DreamHost’s server are not “backups” and if they were the only of those files, it appears you *have no backups at all*, and that is not DreamHost;s fault, and not their problem.

..and none of this has anything at all to do with this blog post anyway.

I wonder what his new host will have to say about his content… buHAhahahahaha.
I mean… Oops! Did I do that? xD

Pesca, you’d have to be retarded to think you’re entitled to anything.

Good job on Dreamhost’s part for throwing idiots like you off of their servers.

I have the right to withdraw my backups! ! ! . I was not stealing anybody, because you will give me the right to deprive my backups?

If this guy conducts his day to day business like he writes here, his ISP should close his account for the safety of society in general.

James: If this guy conducts his day to day business like he writes here, his ISP should close his account for the safety of society in general.

That is funny.

@PescaoDeth

Idiocy and lack of forethought is no one else’s problem but your own. Deal with it.

Dreamhost had a right to host your data after you requested it from them and paid them to do it. They also had a right to stop if you didn’t agree to their terms.

You are responsible for your own damn backups. That’s common knowledge, normal policy and just plain smart. If you don’t like taking responsibility for your own actions, go away and pout in a damn corner and leave the rest of society alone.

If you didn’t know this, again, you should have researched it. I can’t use “I don’t know how to drive!” as an excuse for running over somebody.

If you feel like waisting money because your idiotic pride is getting in the way of your cerebral cortex, kindly pay a lawyer to review your case and tell you to shut up(but in legalese).

Cool, the post.

Thanks for the information.
