"LMAO at the idio that thinks Bluehost is a step down."

In my case Bluehost was a step down. <a href="http://inetintegrity.com/weblog/?p=1" rel="nofollow">Bluehost Blues!</a>

Bluehost should be given an award for their utmost incompetence and pathetic service. Out of the 20+ web hosting companies I have used, Bluehost has been the very worst. Bluehost is not only terrible. they are spectacularly terrible.

I see this is a few days old, but looks like the issue is back... It is taking forever to log into the panel to see what is going on, so I am posting here... I believe my server is 'shekel':

when i was uploaded some little jpegs i first noticed the problem (several days ago). i use ftp upload and they took a lot longer than usual to go up. then i noticed the whole site was very slow. i had my web designer look at the site and he said definitely the server. since then i've had several SLOW repsonses from customer service and they all said, yes, there is a problem with the server but the last one said no, your site works just fine EVEN THOUGH IT ABSOLUTELY DOES NOT! the customer service here is awful. it takes repeated tickets to get a response hours and hours later (or not at all). one said they would get back to me with some information and all i heard was SILENCE.
i KNOW how to operate my website. but i DON'T know what the heck goes on over at dreamhost nor do i WANT to know. i only want them to host my site the way they have in the last nine months and when there is a problem, FIX IT or at least tell me what is going on.
i'm packing my bags and am out of here. i only hope i can rescue my site and take it with me.
i'm madder than i was yesterday and that's pretty upset.

Bonnie, you should upload something simple to your domain, maybe a page full of nothing but plain text and a couple of lightweight jpg images and see if that loads fast... this could determine if the issue is with your server or your site.

"i’m not smart enough to know why my website stopped working this week. just like i don’t want to know how to install a new transmission in my car - i only want to be able to change the gears and DRIVE."

Very sorry, but running a website just doesn't work that way... if you operate your own website, you have no choice but to either get dirty or hire someone that can to do it for you... just like with cars.

i'm not smart enough to know why my website stopped working this week. just like i don't want to know how to install a new transmission in my car - i only want to be able to change the gears and DRIVE.
so it's bad enough that i've lost two days of work but the last crazy response i got from someone at DH said that my site was working fine. that's when i blew a fuse. if not being able to navigate away from my home page without going into a coma or dying of old age while you waited for the page to load was his idea of working fine i am definitely in the WRONG place for web hosting.
i think i am moving.
i went almost nine months without a problem. i guess cruel reality had to invade my happy dream sometime.
i know y'all aren't tech support but do you think there is hope after they finish their "work" this friday night????
