Again???
yes, KiltsRock.com is down..again.
These telephone-pole throwing kilt wearing guys are getting really agitated. They are about to riot, meaning a new host may be in my future.
October 25th, 2007 at 9:55 pm
that was quick..back up now…
October 25th, 2007 at 9:57 pm
It came back up for me about 30 seconds before the outage notice appeared here.
October 25th, 2007 at 9:57 pm
any reason for the problem, or did the gremlins just give up?
October 25th, 2007 at 9:58 pm
Yeah, I sort of noticed the outage ABOUT 45 MINUTES AGO!!! Was wondering when when/if it would be posted. And, um, this is getting kind of old.
October 25th, 2007 at 10:00 pm
Excellent timing, I was in the middle of finishing a problematic install of my Comcast internet service and yelling at them for blocking my mail access. I’m glad Google is starting its imap service, moving my mail someplace reliable is finally going to happen soon…
October 25th, 2007 at 10:01 pm
“Things seem to be working again”?!?! … Wow, good think I spent my down time looking for a new hosting service.
October 25th, 2007 at 10:03 pm
HTTP access to my site is back, but not FTP.
October 25th, 2007 at 10:08 pm
Ok, thanks.
October 25th, 2007 at 10:32 pm
I was trying to actually register a new domain and customer for 3 years under your 101010 deal.
BUT… I can’t the system is not taking my info when i submit. I put in all info 4 tims and excepted the terms and it keeps refreshing the screen so have to start over again and again and again.
AAAAAAARGH!
What is is up dreamhost? Don’t you want new business???
Frustrated and thinking of alternatives. Get back to me when it’s up and running.
I have been a loyal customer have signed up/referred many and want to continue - but this is not looking too good right now.
October 25th, 2007 at 10:51 pm

October 25th, 2007 at 11:15 pm

October 25th, 2007 at 11:26 pm

It really bothers me that the status for this outage is “resolved” and has been so for a couple of hours since I haven’t had FTP access to my site in over an hour. Have all the DH admins gone to bed? What is going on at DH? Did you guys stop paying your admins? Did you stop paying your support contract from Cisco and others?
October 26th, 2007 at 12:15 am
web panel is sick right now.
October 26th, 2007 at 1:07 am
Web Panel is still sick for me too. CSS has somehow been diabled and everything is just big ugly text. Also, the “Contact Support” function is not working, so I can’t report the problem.
My domain is also down with a “bad_httpd_conf” error.
I agree with “Steve Jobs” above - does not look resolved from where I am sitting! Thankfully nothing I have hosted on Dreamhost is critical, so I’ll just wait until the gnomes fix things.
October 26th, 2007 at 2:17 am
how come the status is marked as “resolved” and yet my site and other sites hosted on the same server as mine, DON’T WORK!?
October 26th, 2007 at 2:24 am
I sent an email for the Web Panel problem …
October 26th, 2007 at 5:10 am
Yeah I am lucky i was still in the money back time, I am currently moving my site and relocating my databases I am so outta here went with a better place…..
Dreamhost has not gotten good reviews from me either when I rated them in several host finding services, I am really really disappointed
October 26th, 2007 at 5:22 am
Go look at the Better Business Bureau reports on Dreamhost or google “dreamhost sucks”. You will see that you most likely will not be getting your money back no matter how long you have had service, or lack thereof.
October 26th, 2007 at 5:30 am
Web panel fix:
https://panel.dreamhost.com/id/index.cgi?tab=prefs
Uncheck Use non-secure HTTP for images and javascript on the panel (faster)
October 26th, 2007 at 6:33 am
my site till now is very bad…service unavailable occurs frequently…Can you guys make the host more stable???
October 26th, 2007 at 6:37 am
It’s interesting how it seems my site and web-panel are working better than they ever have before, while everyone else is complaining. I wonder if it’s because I find that instead of wasting time complaining, I type something in Word that I’ll post on my site soon. No big deal, gives me a reason to NOT stare at my screen hoping for something to change soon.
October 26th, 2007 at 8:57 am
I was down this morning, just came back. There have been a rash of these outages, can you tell us how you’re responding to head off future outages? thanks
October 26th, 2007 at 9:02 am
Gee, that nasty comment about DreamHost and “go look at their BBB report” is misleading. Their current rating is:
” CCC A good rating. We would expect nothing less than a satisfactory business transaction, but read our full report to determine if you have any questions or concerns. ”

October 26th, 2007 at 9:10 am
“seems to be working” ?? I wouldn’t take my car to a mechanic with that diagnosis! I’m having email access problems now.
October 26th, 2007 at 9:17 am
I’m having the same POP and IMAP error messages receiving email. Again. Third day, about the same time each day. Anyone else in the same boat?
October 26th, 2007 at 9:25 am
@Kevin: I don’t know if this has been recurring each day. I think I was fine yesterday.
Now my domains are loading slow. So is DreamHost panel… methinks “Resolved” is bogus.
Note: Since this issue is marked Resolved, and there is no new issue listed, and the Pane Support page does NOT show any warnings, I have submitted a support request. This is what everyone should do in this circumstance.
October 26th, 2007 at 9:40 am
@Kevin - it might help if you posted the actual messages that you’re getting. And what cluster you’re on. Is it only receiving, or does it happen when you send also?
I’ve been in webmail at least four times today, and have had no problems sending or receiving. I’m on the “randy” cluster.
October 26th, 2007 at 9:42 am
No. It Is not resolved. My sites are still done.
October 26th, 2007 at 9:47 am
I’ve gotten “Error: Connection dropped by IMAP server.” when trying to log into webmail. Similar message on Outlook re: POP. Email server is “frisky”. Just recently I wasn’t able to access the web panel. It’s happened for about an hour a day for the past three days.
October 26th, 2007 at 9:48 am
all my sites are down yet again….. geez. just today it went down several times already.
up and down, up and down, up and down, up and down. Man, I can’t make money like this!
October 26th, 2007 at 9:49 am
Time to put out a new notice, DH.
October 26th, 2007 at 9:51 am
It seams the problems have started again. Got “Bad request from Browser” error
and all my sites and ssh are slow as hell.
October 26th, 2007 at 9:51 am
Back up for a minute, now out again.
October 26th, 2007 at 9:53 am
Now my website is hanging by a thread.
October 26th, 2007 at 9:54 am
WUH! Yeah, get on it doooods. ALL SYSTEMS DOWN. ALL MY BASE BELONG TO DREAMHOST.
October 26th, 2007 at 9:55 am
And I’m down again. What’s up dreamhost?
October 26th, 2007 at 9:55 am
Hey there. Is there someone humping on one of the machines or routers or something? Because it keeps going up - down - up - down - up - down - up - down.
October 26th, 2007 at 9:55 am
Alright. That’s enough. Perhaps not every day but every 2nd for sure. I’m out of here.
October 26th, 2007 at 9:55 am
I can’t get to my sites anymore. I can’t even get to the panel to file a request with support. It was kind of working earlier, but nothing is responding anymore (multiple machines, multiple domains).
October 26th, 2007 at 9:57 am
It’s DOWN again !!!!!
October 26th, 2007 at 9:57 am
Clippy saw it coming:

October 26th, 2007 at 10:00 am
