Moving triton to new hardware
The webserver triton has experienced some problems and is being moved onto new hardware. I’ll post an update when finished.
Update; 3:54pm: I’ve just finished the move and triton is now up and working. If you have sites hosted on triton and they are having any problems please contact support.

Hi!
How do I know if my sites are on Triton? They are all down…

@David:
Log into the Panel - panel.dreamhost.com. Click on the link near the upper right corner of the page that says “Account Status.” A drop-down list will appear, listing, among other things, your servers.

I’m not with DreamHost, but if you go to https://panel.dreamhost.com/ and click “Account Status” it will be listed under “Your Web Server” near the bottom.

Nice job on the quick turn around time on the repair. Most hosts would be still working away on the problem even after one hour.

it’s always something with Dreamhost…my site is down on a regular basis. unacceptable business practices in this age of competition.

100% of my sites are still up since I bought them several months ago. Yeah for DH!

James, you put this in the “all” RSS category. It should be in “triton” where I won’t see it in my feed =)

All weekend triton has been bogged beyond belief. I was seeing load averages over 500 Saturday afternoon (seemingly right before they took it down). Now that it has been brought back up, it still has load averages nearly 50.
Did I just get unlucky enough to get stuck with a bunch of resource hogs, or are all DH servers this abused?

@ Ian -
Send DH some tickets and ask to be switched to a different server. I’ve heard of many others doing this, and they’ve been moved to quicker servers without a problem! I think you’re with resource hogs, myself. Wouldn’t hurt to ask!

this is rubbish - if the load average was 500 or even 50 you would not be able to login and the server would have crashed a long time ago. DH monotor load averages and strive to keep them below 10 - if someone is resource hogging they disable the site

Well, the site’s have always been up on my end. I am, however, on titan.
