cerritos isn’t very social
Cerritos appears to be having some issues with one of its network interfaces, so we’re going to give it new hardware.
This move should take about 30-45 minutes and we will post again here with updates as things progress.
Hopefully this will alleviate some of the issues it’s been having!
Update 3:54PM pacific: the hardware failover has been completed and services are being configured. We’ll update again when everything is completed!
Update 4:14PM pacific: the failover process has completed, please contact support if you are having any issues!

Hello,
The following url is down:

The site appears to be up and running fine from here… and your own uptime badge says 99.57%. What, exactly, are you complaining about?
November 1st, 2007 at 7:49 pm
Also, we sort of have this little thing we call “support” back in the web-panel. You might want to send your messages to DH there first.

And well, I sort of tried to get to my web panel and It wasn’t available during the 1 hour down time. I wasn’t too concerned really but I wanted to document the outage somehow.
I wasn’t so much complaining, just wondering if anyone else was experiencing trouble.
November 2nd, 2007 at 4:32 am
My site is still down. It seems that problem haven’t been solved yet.
November 2nd, 2007 at 7:34 am
Don’t forget, it could be ANY of the network connections between you and the server. I know my ISP sucks - often.

I think dreamhost is having some serious issues with hackers currently, but isn’t saying anything about it…why do I say that? I had a shell user add themself to my account 2 nights ago. I tried to delete it, but it hadn’t shown up yet. The next morning I woke up to an email from dreamhost saying the user was violating their TOS…doing port scans on various IP accounts with their shell account. I logged in and deleted the user (it showed up on the list now), contacted dreamhost (who said they logged in using my username/password). So then I changed ALL my username and passwords associated with my account (mind you, I use this hosting primarily for personal hobbies and not a full blown hosting business…so I’m the only user with access to the web panel) as well as my password reminder question. Once again, this morning I woke up to another shell account being added. I removed it asap and they added yet another one. Removed it as well. Then received another email for TOS violations…running port scans via their shell account AGAIN. Once again I contacted dreamhost…that was a few hours ago…still have yet to hear from them. I’ve also noticed since everything started happening today, my server (Crenshaw) has been down almost all morning…I can’t access my websites and can’t login via FTP. Says my username and password is incorrect (and yes, I made sure it’s using my new password). These passwords are randomly generated passwords and nothing easy to guess…nor does anyone else know them. Soooo…I’m pretty sure these folks are accessing my account via a security vulnerability somewhere. I just hope it’s fixed soon…my website members are beginning to get a little antsy.
November 2nd, 2007 at 8:55 am
Also just thought I’d mention…I’ve also scanned my computer for any viruses/malware to make sure nobody’s running any keyloggers on my machine or anything like that. Nothing. I’m confident that this is an issue with dreamhost. Since they have yet to get back with me and since they apparently haven’t mentioned it here on dreamhoststatus.com…anyone else having issues?
November 2nd, 2007 at 9:06 am
Okay…so it doesn’t appear the website outage is related to the hacking…my server was rebooted and all is fine. But still…is anyone having problems with people getting in and adding new shell accounts or am I just bad luck?
November 2nd, 2007 at 5:29 pm
can’t get to panel.dreamhost.com to put in a ticket.. bad bad bad.
November 2nd, 2007 at 5:30 pm
Down.
November 2nd, 2007 at 5:30 pm
Same here Weirdo.
November 2nd, 2007 at 5:31 pm
All of my sites just went down at the same time. I also can’t get to the dreamhost panel, is anyone else having issues???
November 2nd, 2007 at 5:32 pm
I can’t get to my site, PassingPerception.com, or to www.dreamhost.com/.
November 2nd, 2007 at 5:32 pm
Down, down, down…
If dreamhost would spend more time keeping my sites up, and less time posting silly pictures, I’d be happy…
November 2nd, 2007 at 5:33 pm
I’m having the same problem. Seems to be the weekly network crash.
!!!!
November 2nd, 2007 at 5:33 pm
Count me in… all of my sites are down as well, and can’t get into the panel to open a ticket.
November 2nd, 2007 at 5:33 pm
All websites are down. Even dreamhost is down. Not good!
November 2nd, 2007 at 5:33 pm
holy crap, not again
November 2nd, 2007 at 5:33 pm
Panel and sites are down.
November 2nd, 2007 at 5:33 pm
i wonder what it is this time. sigh
November 2nd, 2007 at 5:33 pm
ALL of Dreamhost is down!
November 2nd, 2007 at 5:33 pm
Always goes down when I need it the most - this lack of reliability is very disappointing.
November 2nd, 2007 at 5:33 pm
Oh Jesus, are we at it again!?!??! Control Panel is taking too long to load, and my sites again… Is someone fondling the boxes again or something? I said it before, and I’ll say it again…An old man without the help of Viagra could stay up longer than this.
November 2nd, 2007 at 5:33 pm
Probably all your sites went down as well as panel.dreamhost.com.
November 2nd, 2007 at 5:33 pm
Yeah, of course it’s down. It’s Friday. Or Thursday. Or Wednesday. Or Tuesday. Or Monday. Or Sunday. Or Saturday.
This is such bullshit. We just moved clients over to Dreamhost from another server they were having problems with. Seems like every goddamned day there’s something crapping out on them - a router, a server, a power connection. I’m so sick of this.
And we can’t even file a ticket because their panel is down.
Who hosts this status page? I think I’ll switch to them.
November 2nd, 2007 at 5:34 pm
.es here! All is down! Anyhow, it is good to have this at least to see people screaming, and knowing it is not only my sites.
November 2nd, 2007 at 5:34 pm
The same here in Spain.
November 2nd, 2007 at 5:35 pm
Oh come on guys !!!!!!!!!! Not again !
It’s the second time in 2 weeks, i’m trying to run a bussiness here :\.
Get the servers up guys !
November 2nd, 2007 at 5:35 pm
The servers are probably up, the network is down.
November 2nd, 2007 at 5:36 pm
Everything seems to be down. I have sites on four servers that are all down, plus the CP, and mail/webmail. Wonderful.
November 2nd, 2007 at 5:36 pm
Seems to be back to normal!
November 2nd, 2007 at 5:36 pm
Yup, down here again… hmmm… maybe the panel should be moved to outside the dreamhost network too…
Then we can do our tests/checks etc
November 2nd, 2007 at 5:36 pm
I’ve moved 80% of my clients from DH at this point. A few of the remaining are down right now - they’re being moved this weekend.
Have fun!
November 2nd, 2007 at 5:36 pm
HAHAHAHAHAHAH
your sites are down again!!! hahahaha
damn, mine too >.
November 2nd, 2007 at 5:36 pm
My site (on a private server) went down sometime between 4:34 and 5:57pm. Was down for a few minutes. Then came back up. Around 5:30pm, the site went down again, along with panel.dreamhost.com.
November 2nd, 2007 at 5:36 pm
No need to worry, we’ll see some announcement posted within a few days to tell us that they’re “working on it”. That’s top-notch quality service for you!
November 2nd, 2007 at 5:37 pm
looks like it’s a big one, all of my sites are down and so is the panel. 3rd time this week and none of the outages have been mentioned on the status page, so much for dreamhosts open book policy. Time to find a new host. Been with them since 99, but enough is enough, loyalty should be a two way street.
November 2nd, 2007 at 5:37 pm
I bet that they will came here with this “As planned…” shit.
November 2nd, 2007 at 5:38 pm
Everything is working again–what is with these downtime spurts though?
November 2nd, 2007 at 5:38 pm
No no, you’re mixing up Blizzard with DH.
November 2nd, 2007 at 5:38 pm
LOL! Not a bad idea at this point.
November 2nd, 2007 at 5:38 pm
it’s back right now. but it was down, then back up, then down and now it’s back.
November 2nd, 2007 at 5:42 pm
I don’t know about you guys/gals, but I think if we gave Amos (the Amish man) a few servers and shit, he’d probably host us all without any issues.
November 2nd, 2007 at 5:47 pm
Someone, please buy DH some Viagra…I’m tired of the up and down, up and down bullshit. It would be nice if DH just stayed the fuck up! If DH could have sex, I’d bet it’d get a negative digit for sexual performance. Buy some super strength Viagra!
November 2nd, 2007 at 5:59 pm
Well, they just rebooted Bourbon as well. It would appear as if they have no clue what is going on, so they’re just rebooting everything.

Notice a pattern?
November 2nd, 2007 at 6:48 pm
My hand keeps slipping off the end of my knob every time I have a wank! DH when will you fix my knob! Why am I paying for you to sit around not fixing my slippery knob! This just is not good enough! I demand knob satisfaction!
November 2nd, 2007 at 6:48 pm
Except, as has been said multiple times on this status page, it’s being hosted in a strictly colo/dedicated server datacenter. The same datacenter, in fact, that’s also hosting NS2. So all those people who complain when NS2 experiences latancy? Yeah. That’s these guys.
