Panel downtime
Next Thursday morning, we will be performing some maintenance on one of the database servers which powers our Web Panel. This requires us take the Panel off line. The downtime window will begin at 2:00am PST Jan 3, and extend for two hours, until 4:00am PST Jan 3. Expected downtime within this window is 1 hour.\
Panel is back online as of 3:00am.

Lemon PEZ isn’t the best idea at 4AM…
…oh, and neither is a site downage. At 4:11AM. Eleven minutes after the scheduled outage. Can’t tell time, DreamHost? Grab a digital watch.

@Radio Matthew: The scheduled downtime is next week. Before jeering someone you might want to make sure you have your brain on.

The stupidity of website owners astounds me. Reading this blog makes me cry on the inside.

WTF! Again my website went down! It happenned twice in the same day! I am really annoyed! The first time the site was down for a 2/3 hours. And now the same shit happens again!
Please fix the glitches ASAP. I am running ad campaigns, and now my site is down. GRRRR!
Please fix that darn thing quickly!

@admin:
Shut up. You’re on shared hosting. Shared hosting is going to have maintenance windows and unexpected downtime from time to time.
If that’s not acceptable to you, get a dreamhost VPS or your own dedicated server.. but either way, you have no right to complain about maintenance windows on shared servers.

@Jessica:
He’s not complaining about the maintenance window (who can?), it’s because his site is repeatedly down (is twice in the same day “from time to time”?). My site has been down today FOUR times for over an hour each time. Shared hosting or not, that isn’t acceptable.

I can’t submit a support ticket either. My sites have been slow and/or timing out for the past 12 hours.
January 9th, 2008 at 9:58 am
Dreamhost has suddenly handicapped the ability to report problems and my site has been down all day, so here i am posting on their freaking blog. The only way i was able to submit a description of the issue was reply to an old help ticket by email. I also faxed them at their fax number that you’re not supposed to fax support requests to.
Cmon, at least tell me something for christ’s sake!
