Luigi being moved to new hardware
The web server luigi is having hardware issues and we are moving it to new hardware. Sorry for the downtime associated with this, we are working to get it back up and working as soon as we can. Please check back for updates.

That’s great news! (the move, not the hardware issues) Hope things will be up and running again soon.

One of my sites is down, but everything else seems to be up. Is luigi a mysql server or just a regular web server?

Everyday it’s something else. This is getting old!

My site is up again, but slow as molasses. Any ETA for return to full operation?

Is there any chance this issue is affecting email on ‘janky’? My domain’s email is hosted on janky, and I lost all connectivity to that server (webmail, IMAP, etc.) around 2-3 hours ago. I submitted this issue via WebPanel, but have not received the usual automated replies (even though using an external email address).
If this is a separate issue, can someone point me to the current status? It’s taking all my users offline since they rely on email, and no one can reach the server for > 2 hours now. Thanks.

my domain http://www.moeys.net/ is not working

I am also having email issues on janky since a few hours ago.
In the web panel I see:
” 3 hours 50 mins ago: Outage verified: We are actively looking into resolving it.
3 hours 55 mins ago: Outage first reported.”
Which sounds about right. Odd there’s no entry here, but hey, if it’s because they’re too busy fixing email that’s fine with me.

my blog have been down .but my blog isn’t on Luigi,it’s Pepsi…why?

Mine’s on nemesis, and it’s up, but I cannot FTP or SVN - my webmail on janky is also down.

I’m on Drumstick. Down all morning. Very frustrating.

my email service is dead as well … and hosted on janky. filed a ticket. nothing from dreamhost yet.

Question for Jurie: Thanks for your reply. Can you tell me where in WebPanel you saw that “Outage verified” message? I don’t see that anywhere, but it’s useful information to have.
I’m still concerned my support messages logged through WebPanel have not been received by DreamHost staff since the automated replies are not coming through. It sounds like they’re aware of the issue on ‘janky’, but I don’t know another way to reach them to be sure.
Also, my understanding is that if they were aware of the issue, it would be posted on this site — is that correct? I haven’t seen any mention of outages on ‘janky’ on this site aside from a hardware issue resolved 2 weeks ago.

Noah: under ‘Contact Support’.
https://panel.dreamhost.com/index.cgi?tree=support.msg&
Saw it by accident. Look under Tracked Outages.
Note the “Please note: These tracked outages have been reported by customers like you and the status is not automatically updated by our system.”
It offers to keep me up to date per email, but it won’t let me change the email address… oh the irony. (Should I file a ticket? :P)
My interpretation is dealing with Luigi is causing all kinds of trouble. Whether expected or not: either the post is badly phrased or it would have been nice to get an update.

Just got an email (yay email redirector and spare email account!):
“We have been experiencing intermittent problems with one of the
fileservers that your mail machine is mounted to. This has caused
inflated loads on the machine. Our Admins are diligently working towards
resolving this issue. Again, we sincerely apologize for any inconvenience
this may have caused and appreciate your continued patience. If you have
any additional questions, please let us know.”
Which probably means we’re hanging out in the comments of the wrong post.

Yah my email is hosted on janky also. I am getting timeouts like crazy.

True. I have been having issues all morning. It’s fine now, but it was out for at least 4-6 hours. Lately I’ve been having more and problems with Dreamhost. Atm, the site is working fine, but that’s not point.
