Quick Web Panel Maintenance 2008-01-30!
We will be taking the Web Panel down tomorrow night for about 20 minutes for some quick maintenance. This will start at 1:00am Pacific on Wednesday January 30th. This will not affect your hosting, databases, email, webmail, or anything else. Only the web panel!
We will post here again when we begin, and provide updates as things progress.
Update 1am pacific: the web panel is going down now. We expect the downtime to be about 20 minutes. Thank you for your patience!
Update 1:44am pacific: the web panel is back up and running! It was actually only down for about 20 minutes, there were a couple of quick things we had to do before taking it down.
Please contact support if you are having any difficulties!
Thanks!

What’s Games For Windows (GFW) got to do with your hosting Charles? And is that going to affect the Panel Maintenance tonight? (Just trying to make this comment relevant in some way)
January 29th, 2008 at 6:57 am
Brenden, something on Gobstopper was down for about an hour this morning for me as well. Only one of my sites went down though, might have just been an apache process…
Yay web panel! Best one I’ve used / seen on any webhost! Just keeping it relevant

just bought dream host as my web host and it says it installed Gallery for me and the robot sent me a message on how to set up my website, step 1 doesnt even make sense, so now WHAT!?
January 29th, 2008 at 4:16 pm
Vincent,
According to your post on the DreamHost forums, and the DH support message you posted there, they didn’t delete your website. They disabled it because it was causing too heavy a load on the shared server. They also provided you with instructions on how to resolve the issue, and even provided you with some troubleshooting information.
If you don’t understand that message, you should probably go find someone to explain it to you and possibly help you determine why your site is so resource intensive (WordPress, and plugins, can get resource intensive if not managed well).
At any rate, none of your problem (or even my post, for that matter) has anything at all to do with the post on this status blog, and this comment section is not the place for you to express your lack of understanding about what DH support has told you on a non-related matter.

Tracy: This isn’t the place for that! You will probably have better luck getting help or that type by visiting the DH Froums (http://discussion.dreamhost.com).

Agreed, seems as though more than a few servers are down, DrPepper is down as well. A status would be great…

Anyone on the randy cluster having issues? My website is unreachable at approx 12 noon EST on 1/30. I placed a ticket with support already, just wondering if anyone is also having issues.

January 30th, 2008 at 8:36 pm
Hey shithead, you do realize how many data centers are in CA, and have been for quite some time, without incident, right?
Would you feel better if the servers were somewhere with floods, tornadoes, mudslides, fires, volcanoes, hurricanes, ice storms & blizzards, etc? Would that make a spammer like you feel all warm and fuzzy inside?
Anyway, moron, thanks for informing us that this planet is not a perfectly safe place for servers.
January 30th, 2008 at 8:47 pm
Maybe that’s relevant in Stupidville, but in the rest of the world, your clueless question has nothing to do with server maintenance that hasn’t happened yet. But thanks for being a living reminder of why women shouldn’t smoke crack while they’re pregnant.

Hi
You are asking for contacting support, while support wizard is not working properly. What to do now?
January 31st, 2008 at 12:35 am
wait

I’m not so sure about this… now my Disk Usage meter in the web panel is saying I’m using 42MB of space, when in reality I’m using 30 some gigabytes.
I sent in a non-urgent support ticket and informed their team about the bug though.
