Phil isn’t feeling very well
Our admin team is currently investigating an issue with the MySQL server phil on the blingy cluster. Right now, any site that utilizes phil will be running into connectivity issues and new databases cannot be created on the server. Sorry to everyone that is inconvenienced by this service being down.
Hopefully we’ll be able to get a lock on this soon and sort this out. Please continue to stay here for all the latest updates on phil’s condition.

New to the service and have noticed phil on occasions does get overloaded and is quite slow. I guess a good look at the server load and or upgrade is needed.

Dreamhost is always down. Takes minutes to load web pages. Several outages every day. And often like this:
Internal Server Error
The server encountered an internal error or misconfiguration and was unable to complete your request.
Please contact the server administrator, webmaster@tianmi.info and inform them of the time the error occurred, and anything you might have done that may have caused the error.
More information about this error may be available in the server error log.
Additionally, a 404 Not Found error was encountered while trying to use an ErrorDocument to handle the request.
It is so bad. Stay away from dreamhost, they don’t give a damn about your saite being constantly down, they will just give you the same automatic message time after time: “we have an open ticket with the vendor” (and have had for two months).

If the issue is resolved why can’t I connect to phil.dreamhost.com and when i do it, by web browser, phpadmin asks me user and pass, I enter them, and then:
Bang!
“#2013 - Lost connection to MySQL server during query”
Please REALLY fix it, will you dreamohst?

Dreamhost is obviously not feeling very well. I’m at work and I can’t get to support from here. Not that I want to be involved with support all the time (which I am), I just want my site to be up.
I guess they don’t monitor their system at all. But I’ve had it, this isn’t working. A site must be up, or your visitors will be gone. Dreamhost doesn’t understand that.

filed a support ticket but I thought we were “frisky” yet we are decidedly unfrisky at the moment … site slow, 500 internal server errors, logs confirm that almost no one is getting through …

The issue is not resolved as of 2 of my sites I have up right now that rely on database connections are not working. The third one that I am trying to transfer can not be transferred because i need to import and link it to the database.

Waiting for the biggest contract for my business and of course, the same old crap from unreliable Dreamhost. So sick of the “get nothing for your money”. Obviously, they thought they could sit in Oregon & just rake in money.

Critical Announcement! Please Read!
We are currently experiencing networking issues at one of our data centers, which is causing downtime on many clusters effecting email and websites. Our networking admins are on the case and will have this resolved as soon as possible.

Whenever my site appears to be down (less than once a year on average since I starting being hosted here in 99), I IM someone across the country to have them check if they can’t connect. Several of the times it has been my ISP (or something in between) being goofy instead.

Hmmm… “Blingy Cluster” how many problems are there at DH which *don’t* affect Blingy? maybe I should get my sites moved of this stupid cluster.
