Spree died
Posted (June 5th, 2008 at 1:34 am PST) by SandonThe web-server “spree” has died. It appears that it blew a power-supply but it was a very old machine and the cause could be something else (It simply won’t turn on). I went ahead and started failing over “spree” to a standby server with much newer hardware which should take 30-45 minutes. In the meantime all sites hosted on “Spree” will be down until the fail-over completes. Once completed everything should be back up and all the sites on “Spree” will be on upgraded hardware.
Update 02:10 PDT: 90% of the services hosted by this server should be back on line and the last few are coming back up now
Update 02:18 PDT: Ok, this server should be completely back up an all service restored. If you are still having problems with your site and your site is hosted on ’spree’ please contact support.

webmail is broken.
Does this have anything to do with neither of my Dreamhost mail accounts not recognizing their own passwords?

“! Critical Announcement! Please Read!
We are experiencing some issues with our email systems, and are working to fix them. They should be resolved shortly, please do not contact support if you are having trouble with your email.”
But it’s not announced here yet.
They are having more than just issues with their mail server, I manage 4 different accounts at Dreamhost and can not even log in to the Control Panel, so the issue is more than just an email problem.

wordpress users make sure to click on your site via google. there is a hack that is redirecting sites when you click on it via google. thought it was a wordpress issue but it still happened after i upgraded to the latest version. it has only affected my dreamhost blogs.
