Blingy’s Lost Its Luster

Posted (June 8th, 2008 at 10:31 pm PST) by Jason C

Folks on blingy might be experiencing some issues with their sites coming up right now.  The main network file server on the cluster was in need of a reboot and was causing some problems for customers.  Once the issue is resolved we will update this entry with as much information as we possibly can.

Update: A file server other than the one that our admin team diagnosed as problematic was preventing mounts from completing. That file server has recovered and is plugging along again. If you continue to have issues, please mail technical support so they can assist you with resolving them.

I’m experiencing the same on spunky

Thanks for FINALLY putting something up.
My sites have been down for *hours* and no one has bothered to respond to my tickets.
I’m pissed–can you guess why?

My sites are in Glassjoe and have been down for 7 hours and nobody responses.

My sites on Blingy are all fine…

@Sharon: It happened overnight, so you may not have noticed. Emails stayed up, but the sites were down.

I’ve noticed my website is going up and down a lot lately - it’s down at the moment. I quite expect the odd, brief outage, but it’s been very flaky lately. It is on Zihark[web/files]/Blingy[email]/Pichu[MySQL] - I’m not sure how Blingy being down is supposed to affect it, but apparently all is well with Zihark as I can’t find mention of it being sick?

I use a free monitoring app that lets me know by email when things go down - it simply fetches a plaintext file from the server every 15 minutes, so it’s not a database issue. (http://uptime.openacs.org/uptime/)
