Emergency file server OS upgrade (Canceled)

The file server “scooter” is going to undergo an emergency OS upgrade to prevent a bug in its disk drivers from corrupting data on disk, and otherwise causing it to crash. This is unfortunately estimated to go all day. We have moved this upgrade up to today due to the problems we have had getting another file server back online. We shall be offloading all of the data on to the newly upgrade file server once it is complete:

Edit: Nevermind! We realized we have an unused one we are going to deploy and use for both purposes stated above. scooter never went offline.

Site’s been down for hours, home page displays “bad_httpd_conf”; this is nothing we can access so we need this site up. I know you said not to post support requests here but your support mechanism is currently broken and you cannot submit a support ticket right now (18:58, ET/UTC-5). We’ll try again later but your status page doesn’t mention a meltdown so bad you can’t accept support tickets. Earthquake?

learn how to spell “Cancelled” :)

  5. k Says:

marc, “canceled” is perfectly valid American English, but may irk some people.

Keith, your site seems to be up, but also read this wiki page.

I love how people always say “we need this to work” or “we need this site up” and they never really define who “we” is. I see this so often and I’m thinking…why don’t you just say “I” instead?

I guess that just irks me.

  7. Kelly Says:

D’oh! I actually do prefer “cancelled” as the way to spell it. Oh well!

  8. Dung Says:

It’s the worse host service I’ve ever seen ! Bye bye, buddy.

  9. Why Says:

Dung - Get out much? They’re all quite similar, it’s just that DH tries to keep people informed and lets people complain here without censor.

Good luck somewhere else. But don’t be surprised when you’re not satisfied. Certainly at this price point. And please don’t brag about your 5 nines uptime at another hosting company when you’re paying $200 a month. The services are not comparable.
