I’m in the same position as Rick. For folks who use FrontPage
it’s great and simple. I’ll have to move to an ISP that supports FrontPage
extensions.

I still use frontpage because I love the function of frontpage extentions. I can edit a website on the fly. Now that frontpage is gone I have to mess with a stupid ftp program now. I will be looking for another provider if this isn’t fixed.

I use frontpage to built a couple of site, my site all simple stuff , will my site still work?? (sorry amateur here) just all boxes and links nothing fancy?? Thanks Matt

I have a few users that use FrontPage Extensions. For some, it’s just what they’re familiar with. They’re not “coders” so dealing with HTML directly won’t ever work for them, but FrontPage Extensions let them do some nice things without understanding what they were doing. While I still have to deal with the extension-based sites, I don’t personally use FrontPage any more. I installed it last week to back up the few sites that use Extensions just in case removing the extensions completely destroys the sites (wouldn’t be the first time).

Lots of suggestions here for text editor tools– that’s what I generally use too. Dreamweaver is still decent as far as a WYSIWIG tool, though it’s cost is prohibitive for most users.

i would like to see some statistics on how many people still actually use this feature, and what they think the purpose is off using extensions or even front page. For that matter, but I nobody from dh would actually be reading the comments by nowso in the end, what is the point of even posting this, but nonetheless, keep up the good work dh

@Logan - TextWrangler or BBEdit, depending on which machine is in front of me. Otherwise I have a basic file editor in my CMS that’s just a textarea field that opens/writes files (no syntax coloring, so not my first choice for prodding, just for poking and custom PHP function edits).
