When I upgraded a Joomla site, or just as I was doing it, I’m not sure which, I was doing several at a time my site was defaced: mine was done (crudely) by editing the configuration.php file, setting it to offline mode and changing the site name and offline message. I had to change all of that site’s passwords.
So far Joomla 1.0.x is still better…

This is extremely important to upgrade. My client was just attacked and his site defaced. Luckily I was able to take back control before things got too crazy. PLEASE UPGRADE!
