File Server Upgrades 2008-08-19
Posted (August 18th, 2008 at 11:25 pm PST) by kitchenAs mentioned last week, we will be performing upgrades to some of our file servers over the next few weeks. Tonight’s file server is animal (and hopefully gonzo afterward)
We will be starting the upgrade shortly. We will post updates as things progress!
Update: 3:09am: the upgrade has been completed and the file server is back online. We are currently working on cleaning everything up and getting things completely back to normal, we will post an all clear shortly!
Update: 3:45am: things should be back to normal now. If you’re still having issues, please contact support!

Idem Timezone. Sites down, panel down, Dreamhost status up O_o
Gosh I’d love to contact support right now BUT THE PANEL IS DOWN.
panel slow, ftp doesn’t work, dns servers partially offline…

How does one raise a ticket when the panel is down as well? Why not run the panel on the same server as dreamhoststatus.com?
Because it would still have to interface with servers inside the DH network?

All of my sites are down, even dreamhost.com.

It appears (to me) that all of DreamHost is down, including panel, email, all services. Apparently they haven’t noticed yet. (Or, rather, they’re too busy scrambling to fix it to have updated this status blog)…
OK, everything is back now… I guess someone tripped over their Internet cable.

As of 2:40pm EST. Panel down. Personsal website down. FTP down. SSH shell is UP actually. Load is 0.65! haha, probably becuase nobody is accessing any websites.
http://dreamhost.com/contact.cgi is down also.
Earthquake out there maybe?

Network Timeout Issues.
Just post a freaking “sorry, we’re having technical difficulties” 24/7-365 days a year.
save us all some trouble of even THINKING our sites are up “99.9%” of the time..
hogwash.

5$, 10$, or a million $, a service is only as reliable as its “administrators”. .
Oh great - they deleted my freaking comment about the dreadful service I have received!

First one of my sites went down and then access to the control panel, Dreamhost, and my other domains went away.
Is it just me?
Why’s everything down this time?
WebAPP has been down for 23 seconds during the upgrade, we are calling our lawyers!
I want my 10usd/(30 days/24 hours/ 60 minutes/ 60 seconds) X 23 seconds back now!
PS. In Italian Liras if possible. 
Site is down, control panel is down.
It’s been up and down few times already in the last few hours, why DM don’t put up an update on what’s going on?????????????
All of my sites are down, ftp is down, and the panel hangs when trying to run diagnostic tests.
geezus, i post for the first time in weeks and it happens to be at a time i can’t log in. awesome.
I’m on fileserver stranger, and strangely enough my site is having severe hickup’s, close to being down really.
ftp down, sites are timing out all over the place. gah
My site is not accessible, not even ftp, tried to contact support but control panel is not accessible too, tried the forum same, tried sending email got reply to post through control panel, how am I suppose to do it when control panel is not accessible, WHAT IS GOING ON?

“the to bad, so sad” attitude is really costing DH anyways, as I was just trying to “sell” a DH account… and (shoulda figured), its BROKEN…. this is not the first, second or even third time, how odd?? i’m sure this happens more often than realized as well..

and, ah, yeah, there are great hosts for 8$/mo now.. with more uptime.
