More filer problems on the frisky cluster
Posted (September 23rd, 2008 at 11:14 am PST) by danwyIn addition to the filer problems we’re having on janky, one of the filers on frisky also started acting up a short time ago. This is causing issues on several of the servers on the frisky cluster. Our admins are looking into this filer as well as the one on janky and hope to have both of them back to normal as soon as we possibly can. We’re sorry for the inconvenience this causes you.
UPDATE: 12:32pm (PST) - We have been unable to find the cause of these filer issues on Frisky. Our admin is temporarily taking down the filer to run further diagnostics on it to find the problem. Unfortunately, we don’t have an ETA at this point, but we are doing everything we possibly can to get things back up and running ASAP.
UPDATE: 1:57pm (PST) - We’ve seen a few questions come in wondering which servers are affected by this filer. If you’re on one of the following servers, you will most likely be seeing problems:
barracuda beaker bolsa boxster bridgatchina bugatti bumper cadillac camaro catalyst cayman chennai chevelle circatreews01 colintsui coneybeare continental corvette creativeliberations cutlass dart democracy dmc edsel eirenemachine elcamino eldorado elise enzo eredux esprit fairlane ferrari fiat firebird fozzie frisky-vserver01 frisky-vserver02 frisky-vserver03 frisky-vserver05 frisky-vserver06 frisky-vserver07 frisky-vserver08 frisky-vserver11 frisky-vserver12 frisky-vserver13 frisky-vserver14 frisky-vserver15 frisky-vserver16 frisky-vserver17 frisky-vserver18 frisky-vserver19 funty1 galaxie gdr gibble godfuel guru highground hpl hudson hummer hupmobile impala jaguar jetta jonlin knocker kyfserver labnol lesabre logichost malibu marcianos mclaren merkur miata model-t montecarlo murcielago ninja nova olds ontrack packard palmea passat phaeton phiya pierce pinto probe prowler ps3649 ps3718 ps3796 ps3995 rambler rawstock renault rolls rtryyuy sciencewerk scion scthreads sexylinker shelby sinagoo skylark smokelabs sos spyder sten stingray stratus studebaker tempest tesla thegibson thog thunderbird titan tomkincaid touareg towncar trans-am veyron vsuno wcweb1 wisdev workserver wrangler xaevir xcopi yonder zawi
More updates (and hopefully a resolution) will be on the way very soon.
UPDATE: 4:27pm (PST) - The latest word from our admin team is that this issue was caused by a bad backplane on one of the filer shelves. That made things a bit hard to narrow down, but we’ve found it now and have remedied things. The file server is back up now tho and it’s rebuilding a disk. Still, most customer sites on frisky that were seeing problems because of this should be taken care of now.

Just sent a support ticket before y’all posted this. Please fix soon.
It would help me a lot if you can solve it ASAP because all my sistes are being affected by this problem: http://www.abc.edu.mx, http://www.grupomaba.com, http://www.tarconis.com. Thanks
Why the fock this always happens when I am modifying my blog
Hope to see the service coming back soon.
Great, so this means that this problem will be sorted after the Janky problem?
Hopefully everything is up soon. Like real soon…
My *Email* server is Frisky, but my *Webserver* is Elise (Fileserver = Slapper). Would Frisky problems be making my site unreachable?
If I can’t log onto the “support” for some reason, how would I know if I am on the frisky server?
How is this problem manifesting itself?
@krassyo: ditto.
Luckily I had done a backup before losing my whole sidebar, yuck!
I was up for 2 minutes. Now I see that my server has been rebooted yet again.
Some of my sites are up, but some are gone, but all on the same server. What does that mean? Uptime is over 10 minutes now.
@Fran: I was just translating Lifestream and now I am testing locally on my Linux because of DH downtime
i’m on scion, and i’m not even getting through. is this problem related?
Im also in Scion, this problem is related?
I didnt contact DH about downtime for 26 days, ALMOST ENTIRE MONTH! It must have been a few years record. So close to make it 1 full month without downtime/slowness complaints to support.
OMG WEBMAIL IS BROKEN AND IT SHOULD NOT BE!!!
My websites are still loading forever :-/
I have a few sites all on one DH server. Some are up and running, others are gone (instant “Page Load Error”). Does anyone know what that means? The server was rebooted over 20 minutes ago.
Looks like webmail (squirrelmail) is down. It would be nice if that status were reported here, along with your conjecture of what is causing it, and ETA of fix, please.
Not an official complaint, as I know this isn’t the place, but none of my Dreamhost e-mails are accepting their passwords, ergo, I cannot log in.
This is not only Email related problem, C David. Thank God that I am using Google Apps atm.
I’m guessing this effects the postal mail server too?
It seems that only mail and httpd are affected. MySQL is working for me and I am using MySQL from Alvin host.
I love how this happens the day I send an email blast to 1500 members, telling them to check out all the new features that I just installed on the site.. and the whole site goes down.. great.
If you think this is bad, just imagine how peak oil’s gonna be…
Our site has evaporated (temporarily, I presume), but we do have our MySQL mail.
Thinking good thoughts for the admins - pretty stressful day at DreamHost, no doubt - and Mercury doesn’t go retrograde for another 12 hours!
I’m on FIAT server and all my sites are down.
luvly
Is cutlass on the frisky cluster?
I would happily move my Webmail over to the GMail system if there was an efficient way to move all my saved e-mail folders as well… I’m not about to lose four years’ worth of correspondence!
I am on washer, cayman and frisky. Can not access mail, website etc.
The ship is going down by the head!!!
@Samspectre: hope that this will help you:

@wheels and wax: Your site is behaving like some of mine: “Failed to Connect” and “can’t establish a connection to the server.” One of my sites is up fine. Another is stalling at connection time (never timing out).
I’ve never lost data on DH, but I’m getting worried now… Has anyone ever experienced loss of data at DH (forced to restore from some day in the past)?
The best backup is your own backup
However I never lost anything since the time I started using it (knock on wood).
I’m on stratus (web server), and everything is down here too. But once again, it might actually be down from the dns level and down… Argh.
Sweet god almighty am I tired of my site going down. Last time my site went down, I said, never again. Today, dreamhost, you finally lost a long-time customer. Eat my fucking balls.
Impulsive behavior will never help…
All my sites are DOWN!!!!
Mail down, sites loading at snailpace, and it’s even not summertime!
Ah wait, I see, it’s Frisky
Everything sucks, I’m forgetting the internet for today.
My sites are on stingray and are completely down.
I’m not very happy right now, this is the second time in the past 7 days my sites have been hosed due to some issue that is out of my control.
This stinks…
Sometimes dreamhost sucks.. what the hell is happening
Is this applicable ONLY to shared hosts? Because our site is on VPS and all my domains are unresponsive.
*sigh* I’m hoping this is simply a DDoS on our sites and not Dreamhost.
My sites on the ESPRIT server are down for more than 2 hours now.
I guess I can only hope they come up soon.
I’m going to eat a salad, watch Oprah, and add more blogs to my Google Reader…
*sigh* Our site for our book is only ONE html page. We’re not even using Wordpress or MySQL.
My sites are up then they go back down. Sometimes I hate Dreamhost! WTF???
domplete down here, how can be this so long, for hours now? is dreamhost sleeping, is someone doing anythinng or is just dreamhost fucking their costomers? i am really doing to be mad
I hope there’s an fix soon.
Guys! Any hosting company will have issues sometimes! Sheesh. It’s not like it happens all the time. Yes, I’m just as bummed, but give ‘em a break!
Would love an ETA as this is effecting everyone’s businesses
All your site are belong to us!!!!
A phone call response to my request might be nice. Paid 10$!
I’m just giving my paid advertisers an extra day for this, nice work of dreamhost, site and forums slow as hell or down once a week.
Dreamhost could not have picked a worse time. I’m expecting emails from media nationwide to confirm their attendance at a green car fest this weekend. Not good.
My companies mail, as well as most of my client’s sites’ mail has been down for hours. This is exactly what I needed to get everyone to make the switch over to Gmail!
my sites are up an running, but none of my clients e-mails seem to work… please fix it ASAP. They want to kill me!
I see the update with server listings… are mysql ps servers affected?
What do you mean “hopefully a resolution”.. Buddy you have to solve it.. that’s why we are paying for your hosting
Hace más de 2 horas que todos mis dominios están caidos, por favor arreglenlo pronto.
Espero no dure mucho esta caida de mis sitios.
I just checked my logs, I lost $9 in advertising while the site was down
Plase, I need to know how many time you need for fix this problem, we have a big problem.
This seems to be a monthly occurrence. Checking my support history, there is definitely a trend of monthly downtime occurring starting in April. Just the other day I was thinking, “Wow, my site has been up almost the entire month, maybe they finally fixed whatever was causing these monthly crashes”. Spoke too soon. This is totally unacceptable. I will not be renewing my dreamhost service when it expires, and I would suggest that you do the same.
Hestia is down too!
My site is up, but webmail is absolutely stagnant. I know you’re working to resolve this asap, but hurry!
Hrm….have they tried rebooting the server three times?
It looks like they (we) have 2 catastrophic issues going on at the same time on 2 different server clusters.
I’m very frustrated right now also but Im very glad I don’t work in that office
Breath. You’re paying pennies a day for hosting on a shared host that provides you with a metric crapload of bandwidth, diskspace, and features. Considering you can’t get 100% uptime with a dedicated server you’re paying $1,500 a month for you shouldn’t really be complaining.
Downtime happens. While I understand it’s frustrating, realize that they don’t want it to happen any more than you do. In fact, they want it even less because not only does it mean more work for them, but it means less money for them too. At least on your end you don’t have very much to lose and you don’t have to do anything to get things running again.
Oh, and you aren’t going to lose much from the 29 people that would have visited your website today anyways. I’m calm and every single one of the ~400,000,000 images I am responsible for has been down for at least some time during the last 24 hours.
Is it possible there are more servers affected than just the ones listed above? We have a PS, but it isn’t listed above and we’ve been down today.
@ Corey - absolutely.
@Corey - I love everything about DreamHost’s service except the spotty uptime. Nonetheless, I’m still here because I know they’re on top of the issue, trying to fix it as quickly as possible. That’s a lot more valuable than having no clue what’s going on (as I’ve experienced at other hosts).
I love how people say to calm down. Relax. Breath. No kidding?! Thanks!
It just so happens that a lot of us are pissed off because this happens way too often. Much more often than with any of my other hosts. While I appreciate them being “honest” about the issues, I further appreciate my right to vent about how terrible dreamhost’s service can be.
seriously… how much of you will change hosting because of some downtime? it happens everywhere, for money you pay
wow. that’s a huge list of servers. wtf happened? longest i have been down since i opened my account a year and 3 months ago.
One mover here, Dave. Absolutely.
Question: Is there a SLA through DH for their shared hosting? I’m wondering if there’s a way to get out of the yearly contract with some sort of money back since I may have to move to a new host if problems persist? Does anyone know?
This sucks. Dart is down too. What REALLY sucks is I have a backup site ready to go.. but the DNS entry for my domain is a Non-editable DreamHost DNS record that I cant edit it. It’s frustrating that I prepared for this event, it happend, and I cant make the DNS cut over.
wholly guacamole, when it rains…
sweet mercy!!! this is an all day downtime!!! I am going to loose readership on my blog…
I sense some freebies!!!!
Looks like we’re back. Thanks all, it’s been fun
This is why we will be switching to another service. These interuptions in service are kiiling my business! For 5 hours now we have had spotty service. Am I still paying for this day?
Who does Dreamhost use to host their status site dreamhoststatus.com? That’s who I want to move to. This site is always up. Maybe Dreamhost should move *all* our sites there.
i agree with rusell xD
This is TOTALLY UNACCEPTABLE! I thought this host was suppose to have their act together, we are getting massive complaints from our clients and it is DREAMHOST’s fault! GET IT FIXED NOW!!!!!
We’re up? Not for me. http://www.tempusgroup.com is still down.
@Greg, you know those pills called Serotonin and Zoloft? You should take those before you keel over.
My sites are on the Jebediah server, which is now down ;(
my site on hummer is working again
You could move your site to where the dreamhost status page server is hosted but it will start at a minimum of $200/month + goodies and there is no shared hosting plans available. I am sure Dreamhost is pretty frustrated with the problem and are making plans to improve everything overtime so all the problems that keep happening regularly turn into rare problems.
FIX IT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I’m trying to maintain my composure… A very important client of mine is really unhappy and wants an update.
So at this point I wish to request that DH give an update to us every hour to this situation.
Thank You.
Um, this probably won’t help the situation too much unless of course that there are a few million smurfs powering the generators that generate the servers that you generate for us and so maybe we can motivate the smurfs to work a little harder and faster so I don’t have to come here and tell you that in the 3 1/2+ years that I’ve been using Yahoo, not once, I’ll say it again, not once did I ever have a downed, broken, beat up, or fried server issue which you must admit is pretty freakin’ remarkable.
But don’t miss the big picture. Yahoo could beam live porn right over the Internet and into my living room and it wouldn’t make them suck (forgive the pun) any less.
MouseRunner.com is a disgraceful coding nightmare
and an ugly eye sore and so I am rewriting it fully and I’ll move that site over to DreamHost to join AccessFirefox.org, TheMozillian.com (just a draft), and MouseRunner.net. Why am I moving over to DreamHost? Just go and try to validate the homepage of MouseRunner.com, I dare ya.
All of MouseRunner.com’s code was generated using Yahoo Site Builder software which is complete garbage. How do you think that I felt when I was pushing a web site (AccessFirefox.org) who’s main mission it is to promote Internet accessibility and yet that site couldn’t be validated either thanks to Yahoo.
I’ve learned my lesson and everything is now coded by hand and I think that I’ve just wasted enough of your time which I was using to kill time until my sites came back online. I’m sorry if you feel like you’ve been used.
And finally I’d like to say that DreamHost kicks a** (<—That’s ass).
I’m a very happy customer so don’t make unplugging my sites a habit and I won’t go to your home town and start throwing my feces at the windows of the restaurant that you dine in.
You guys go down more than a french whore!
Can we get an ETA?
Yep, I wasted just enough time here, my sites are up.
-Peace-
Looks like my vps is back up.
To all you people outraged over $10/month shared hosting, I’m upset too, but I have to remind myself.
99.5% uptime = down 44 hours a year
99.9% uptime = down 8 hours a year
This was down about 4 hours.
The callback issue is the biggest. It would have saved me many hours of insanity NOT KNOWING what was going on. The best investment DH can make is in a PR department and a serious phone support team. They would make the money back on customers retained, instead of irritating us to death over NOT KNOWING and NOT being able to find out what’s happening during an issue…
I had 6 sites go down over a $10 billing problem I would have resolved immediately if I could have, but the billing screens were messed up. So it took 2 days of downtime to get it resolved…. If I were with Godaddy (I don’t recommend them) at least I could have heard back from a human being IMMEDIATELY!
I WILL NOT refer ANY more clients to DREAMHOST.
I WILL end up moving my sites to a cloud-computing host.
Peace Nightmare Host!
My site is still down!
Appreciate all your hard work. 99% of the time, life is good, my web page and mail are spiffy and smooth, and the only servers I think about are waiters and Roger Federer. And then days like this happen. Take care and keep up the good hosting.
Just to know…
they servers are running over Atari or Sness ?
Ооо.. бляя… чета базарят все… а наши мужики тут есть? Че произошло то? У меня ни один сайт не пашет!!!
Что происходит?
to Gemmich
не переживаю.. есть и мы
I was back up and running. Now I’m down again. Are other folks still down? They should give a percentage of how many people may still be affected by this and an ETA on the fix.
Down again here. FRUSTRATED.
http://www.parrot.ca still down
Has been down for 48 hours as far as I can tell.
FORTY EIGHT hours…
Yes, four hours down is frustrating. However, this is the first hour-plus outage I’ve experienced in over a year on DH. I’m staying. Thanks!
I’m a stay at home dad with two kids and a wife to support. My only means of income right now is webdevelopment of which I host those clients under my hosting as a perk to those who hire me for development.
Right now I’m running into two problems.
1) Some of my existing clients have been bitching at me since sunday threatening to change hosts and demanding I backup their site and prepare it for moval to another hosting provider.
2) I’m trying to advertize my services but its really *$*#ing hard to do when my examples of work I’ve done including my own site is down.
I pay for hosting… can I get hosting…? your service started out great but in the last couple of months its been going downhill… what gives… ?
@Karl Blessing: I understand exactly how you feel. I’m also trying to be an independent software developer (but I’m not a Web development expert). For me, DreamHost is exactly what I want out of a Web hosting company… except for the actual Web hosting part. I’ve been using DH for over a year, and I’m still on the fence whether I’ll launch my game under their service, when it’s ready.
Nighmarehost is f*cking garbage! Same sh*t over and over, every month. Pathetic!
our VPS is still down…8 hours or so total
Well mine seems to be up for the last couple hours. Its been either slow or down since sunday… I wonder if the reason they tell you to refrain from submitting a trouble ticket is becasue trouble tickets can be used as proof of your down time, in which case if its down more than the 99.9% uptime guarantee then they’d have to reimburse you something. Just a speculation, but makes me wonder.
it is very frustrating. I have a personal account that I’ve had for over 5 years with very little trouble. The account that we opened at my office a year ago has been a constant battle. It’s too bad there isn’t a little more consistency across the server banks.
@Karl Blessing: DH has no 99.9% guarantee or service level agreement.
It seems this was Friday 13th for DreamHost services and admin team. I am happy to see everything is fixed, I hope this never happened again.
Does this have any relation with my Wordpress? Each time I try saving or publishing a post, I receive a “Service Temporarily Unavailable” error.
24 hours my site’s been down now. Great, DreamHost. Simply great. Your service is friggin amazing.
Thanks, my site came back up after about 6 hours down yesterday.
I’m just glad the problem’s resolved.
So happy you DreamHost people tracked down the problem.
Happy Wednesday.
“Business Critical” should cost you more than $10/mo, tightwads
I hope u guys fix it soon
And my sites are down again…
@Uh Captain Obvious… why do you bother?
Can we Please have a Progress report on this Issue. Our site and many like it , are business too.
other than the fact sites are not resolving ( We see this for ourselves ). last report is over 21 hours old.
Give us something Guys !!!
thank you
It is now Sept. 24 and we still cannot access our email or website…. is Dreamhost going to reimburse companies for the lost productivity? They should !
db down back again… maybe time to switch from zx spectrums to more powerful puters
omg, i’ve been unable to do anything resembling business since 9/19 midday.
i’m so queasy rt now i cnat even think straight.
Charge more. Make it better. We all look bad and unreliable when your service is bad an unreliable.
@Dweebs - I have to disagree. If you want to pay more, then please go to a host that charges more. I’m perfectly happy paying my $10.95 a month for the service I get. I had enough sense to actually read the Terms of Service BEFORE I signed up. I understood that DH doesn’t guarantee uptime. I understood that by using shared hosting I was exposing my sites to possible problems caused by other people on the same servers. I understood that there was no phone support. I understood that with (at the time I signed up) 500,000 domains hosted that my service tickets may not get prompt attention.
All that being said, my sites have had a grand total of 40 hours of downtime in the last 2.5 years (the 40 hours represents the total number of clock hours when I have had no hits to any of the 4 sites I have hosted here, based on analysis of cumulative server logs). That’s an uptime percentage of approximately 99.8%. I’ll gladly take that for my minimal monthly fee.
The only people who look “bad and unreliable” in this situation are those who have promised more to a third party than what DH promised to them. If you’re running a business, or hosting things for clients, then bargain-basement shared hosting is the wrong choice. And now you know that.
@Dweeb and Barasscrest
I pretty much agree, for 10.95 you get hosting that is pretty much scaled to designers/developers. The interface is not nearly as automated and easy as some other hosting providers utilizing cpanel/whm and such, but it works just fine for most of us who knows what we’re doing. We save money in a way by not having to pay for the whole whm/cpanel package, and to get our own hands a lil dirty when building these sites.
So the price isn’t so much for the features but for the services. Right now however… we’re getting less uptime than godaddy and paying more for the downtime :D.
I like dreamhost and they’ve been responsive before…. thats why this up/down/up/down (mostly down) since sunday has been a bit disheartening. It a little dejavu of fuitadnet all over again for me (they started out great, some hands changed, it went downhill fast), so as usual my paranoia kicks in, but also my frustration level increases when during a work week I not only have to deal with trying to get new business which is hard to do with sites being down half the time but also trying to reassure my existing clients that I’m trying to keep on top of things.
I feel a little helpless in the middle here…
@ Barasscret
“If you’re running a business, or hosting things for clients, then bargain-basement shared hosting is the wrong choice. And now you know that.”
So what you’re saying is dreamhost services are only good enough for personal sites and blogs? (least before all this down time).

Normally I’d be putting that many words per minute to better use… but oh wait, I can’t access my sites.
My PS MySQL server is down!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
uhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh……………………………………….
It was up for an hour or so, now it’s back down.
Some of my sites are still down. hope they can fix it soon..
Okay, I’m quite the newbie.
I sure hope someone can help me answer some pretty simple questions. My site, gayspeedway.com is blank, no error messages, nothing just a blank white page. Is this the definition of a “site being down”?
This site was FINE on the 23rd, yesterday morning around 9amEST was when i realized the site was blank.
My webpanel says, a few things: my “machine” is gravano. Is this the same thing as a “server”? (It’s not on the list of effected “servers” on the status page.
How do I find out if i’m on Janky or frisky?
I try and reach my site through the “backend” gayspeedway.com/recipes or /blog or whatever and there IS content there.
When I try and “log in” as Administrator, it can’t find ANY of my USER names and passwords.
Webftp shows all the files seem to be there, but I notice that the .htaccess file was modified at 7am on the 23rd.
Now I did NOT do this.
I sent in a couple tickets to support, and i notice I don’t get the automatic reply that they’ll “get right on it”.
I want to fix these problems but alas, I’m not sure where the issues are.
ANY thoughts and advice are greatly appreciated.
@Islandog: This is staus blog is a place for us to bitch and moan, not get answers to legitimate queries.
You could try posting your questions in General Troubleshooting at http://discussion.dreamhost.com
okay, let me post over there….
So was up sometimes last night, now I get on this morning and its non-responsive again.
When are they going to get it in gear? *sigh*
Okay now I can bitch and moan.
I’m gonna guess Dreamhost is up to something, because now I get NOTHING even when i try and log in the “backend”
I hope they can get to these issues ASAP.
@lslandog
I been waiting since Sunday for them to fix the issues. It’ll come back up once in a while but for 80%-90% of the day its down (usually just the white screen as it tries to load content). I can’t even really advertise my services as a webdeveloper for fear that someone visiting will take dreamhost’s downtime as being a reflection of my unreliability.
-Karl
Wow, 4 days of my sites down. This sucks.
Well, it was too quiet for a while…
I posted this over on http://www.getsatisfaction.com
—————————————–
Dreamhost extended downtime hurts.
Generally I’m rather happy with Dreamhost. Back when I first signed up it was relatively easy to get started and the features appealed to me as a geek. Prior to signing up I had several recommendations from friends and co-workers that swore by dreamhost’s reliability, service and price. After using them for only a month I was rather impressed that at the time I recommended my employer as well as my co-worker sign up with dreamhost which they did. Later on I even offered to host clients under me if I did their web design and development.
However in this new year I cannot confidently recommend dreamhost after small problems after another started to build up over the last few months. First it was erratic slowness in connection followed by an occasional down time (maybe like an hour or two in a week’s time) and it just went down hill from there.
As of Sunday I noticed that all of my sites would be down 90% of the time, or that one of their services would be (email for the most part stayed up, but mysql, httpd etc would be down). It’s now thursday in the week, the issues are still unresolved, the dreamhost status page isn’t offering much recent feedback and they’ve asked the community to refrain from submitting a trouble ticket.
Now I can understand the potential downtime of maybe a few hours if not a day in a year and such, but 5 days now is quite nerve racking as web development is my only means of income and I have existing clients yelling at me (thank god I don’t use the phones due to my hearing impairment) wanting to know whats going on. As of this morning I’ve informed most of them that if they wish to find a new host I’ll accommodate them in moving their site over to a new host. I can no longer in good conscious recommend them to this hosting provider due to the duration.
Worse yet I’m trying to advertise my services as a webdeveloper, and I been refraining from doing so in fear that Dreamhost’s downtime would be perceived as a reflection of my own unreliability. This is certainly not what I would have perceived of a professional team, and if one thing failed I would have expected them to have had the proper level of redundancy not to have such a wide spread issue over such a long period of time (yes more than 6 hours is too long for any business on the web).
I want to try to wait it out and hope for the best, but financially I cannot help but seriously consider moving to another host asap. I also have a problem with their paypal no refund policy. Over the last year I have been paying into my account so that when my new billing year comes up this October I would already be paid up for next year, but if Dreamhost cannot deliver the service they promise and I need to move to another host I would expect a full refund of the credit amount I’ve accumulated in there for next year’s hosting as I would not be utilizing it. It pains me to feel the need to move but it seems like every time I find a good host they go south so soon that I start to wonder if all hosting providers are pretty much the same.
-Karl Blessing

Sites are down… again! AHHHHH!!! Double You Tee Eff Mate?!?!
I’m on Frisky / Riviera, and haven’t been able to receive email off and on all day. Can send it, though — and my site is up. But now in the last 10 minutes, as I was trying to submit a support request on my panel, now I cannot access my panel anymore either! So how can I contact support? rrrggghhh
Anyone have a working website in Dreamhost???? I have 5 websites hosted in dreamhost. I have problems about down time every single day! One of my websites is very popular, i used to send tickets to support when my website went down ( 3 times a day ). Besides that memory problems, mysql errors, Premature script headers PHPCGI ( if you check errorlog u know what i mean)…… and goes on.
When i said to support, it is very important to me. Please do smt im losing customers. The answer was ” It is your fault, the reason is your scripts. If you are not happy you can change your hosting company”
CAN YOU BELIEVE THAT!!,WHAT KIND OF SUPPORT IS THIS??
The other day of course i changed my hosting company!!!!!!
