abrego issues

We are currently experiencing some hardware issues with the abrego server. We are looking into the problem right now and hope to have a resolution soon. We will post updates as things progress.

Update 10:22PM PST: It appears as though the raid controller decided it didn’t like its raid anymore, and dropped it on the floor. Fortunately, everyone on this server was just recently moved to it, so we are moving everyone back to their old machines right now.

Update 1:32AM PST: sites have been restored back to their original locations and should be back up and running now. If you are still having problems, please contact support.

happy birthday, your site is down again.

Guys - seriously? This has been happening way too frequently. We really rely on our website, and this just…it’s not good.

C’mon. Last month I got moved to a new machine and two days later it imploded and I got moved back, losing two days worth of files. Now I get moved to a new machine and it lasts almost a week. Will I lose a week’s worth this time?

Very nice!!! My sites are down AGAIN. I really was wondering how much time they will work, and it’s only 1 week after I was moved to abrego. This is the second time these stupid things happen. A couple of weeks ago I was moved from dione to kray, after a week I was moved back to dione loosing all my files during that week. A week ago I was moved AGAIN from dione, this time to abrego, and surprise, after a week, my sites are down!!! DREAMHOST you really know how to satisfy your clients.

Dreamhost: I dreamt that I had hosting once upon a time.

All my sites are down… looks like i need to look into a managed server…

After my company’s site went down & Dreamhost couldn’t help fix it, I switched to http://www.Bluehost.com. Have had no issues there, and the pricing is about the same. Plus, they get right back to you via their U.S. chat-based support.

I still have two sites on Dreamhost, but looks like I’ll be transferring those too.

Thanks Rob, wish I’d heard of BlueHost before signing up with NightmareHost a month ago. My site has been down now for hours.. again.

60+ sites are down this morning, inbox full of more customer complaints wondering why I can’t keep the sites up. The support wiki suggestions for the “bad_httpd_conf” error are useless. I’m currently evaluating the following alternatives:

I have a ticket submitted 8 hours ago and till now I didn’t get any answer. I also checked other dreamhost alternatives and stopped on hostgator and bluehost. But I need something with ffmpeg enabled and it seems only dreamhost and a couple of other providers unknown to me are offering ffmpeg for shared accounts. I’ve looked up site5.com (thanks Greg for your sugestion) and they say that ffmpeg can be enabled upon request. Does anyone else know some other reliable hosting provider that has ffmpeg enabled for shared accounts?

Well… i’m not on Abrego, but barker, and my site is down as well… I guess i’ll benefit from the 97 day satisfaction warranty…

Still down all sites - I´m so disappointed….cannot send an e-mail to the support…hell…thats killing my business…..

Very displeased with DH. Server changed 4 times in 2 months. Bad_httpd_conf error twice in two months.

Supposedly I now have “unlimited bandwidth and space” as an apology, but what good is that when server uptime is so friggin’ unreliable?

Anybody else keep having their server switched?

Hope somebody is working on it……too much hours now for professionals..my phone is ringing all 2 minutes and i have to talk to my screaming clients like a prayer…still I get my e-mails back from the support.

My sites are working now, I’ve received an answer from support, so probably they are working on it. The problem now is that all the files that were changed or added this week are now lost.

DreamHost you SUCK SHIT! If you weren’t so busy holidaying at the beach where you spend your time sucking farts out of dead seagulls on our dime, you might actually have less issues!

You should change your name to ‘Piece of Shit Hosting’.

You don’t even bother with the ‘resolved’ status tags on postings anymore, because you never resolve anything, you just stick a band aid on it and hope that holds it for another day or so. No other hosts have this many issues, month after month, year after year. At what point will you fucking morons look at the facts and realize you’ve you’ve got much bigger problems than you want to believe?

My site was moved to biggs a couple weeks ago. My site is down as well. I’m really getting tired of the complaints that I receive for the site being constantly down, or that it is so slow they may as well go out to lunch before a page loads. Time to start looking around at other hosts as this has gotten ridiculous.

my sites were back up for a while yesterday, but everything is down again. Although I never had access to my databases.

Still have FTP access to an 7-day old copy of my files.

hello! when will I have all of my sites back? got moved from morpheus to buchalter… no problems for a couple of weeks… moved to abrego, lasted a couple of days and it’s all down. wtf?

wrote tech support… no response. WHAT’S GOING ON??!?! some people are losing money here!

Please, look at what’s happening with my site that use wordpress. All sites are problem with the web panel and all the database are with 0kb.

My sites are back up as of today. It sounds like the sysadmin guys at DH had a terrible weekend.

wordpress no good… working fine a little bit ago then when trying to access admin.. crashed and down it went 503 error again :(

I just switched to Dreamhost a few weeks ago. I’m also on bonanno and things have been down since last night. I got a message back last night saying that the server locked up and things should be back up within 2 hours. They are running a file system check. This morning all I get are 404, 500, etc errors and it is really hurting my business. I checked these comments and I am VERY surprised to see all the bad comments. Looks like I will be finding a new hosting company.

I used a dedicated server from Aplus.net and even though the support is horrible, the server was SOLID. I think it was worth the $65 a month. I went to dremhost to save some money and it looks like I get what I pay for :(

I’m down on bonanno again - it’s been up and down for two days now. I wish they’d give us a status update, if nothing else! I’m losing money every minute the sites aren’t running.

Finally after over 2 days it appears my sites are back though I need to reconstruct 7 days of lost files. Such a hassle, this is the second time in about 2 weeks that i have to do this.

I wonder how many sites were affecting by this outage? Hundreds or thousands?

Anyway, I’m just relieved now.

Well some of mine are now back up but completely wiped :( including the forums again for the 2nd time. I am pretty disapointed.

You should post your comments on the new entry for Bonanno. Abrego issues are still abound, but they have move customers off of that server (and lost about a weeks worth of adds and modifications to the filesystem it would seem).

Is there anyone knows the main reason? Why they have problem in bonanno server?

Please answer me: you are retrieving data from the server Abrego. All my sites with wordpress are in trouble. We need to know the backups will be restored. Please respond!

Well I got an email from support and they have been working on the issue. I am not sure as to the degree of the problem but I am thankful that they did respond. Some of my sites were up but now they are all down again. I suggest everyone take a deep breath and lets pray that they will be able to sovle the problem. I am sure they are working hard on it.

At least your getting a reply… I have realized that the issues I’m having stem from what appears to be half the sites being moved back to Fiat (where the problems all begain) and half of them still believing they are on abrego… Hopefully they get it fixed soon, because it’s gettting pretty bad over here.

I know what you mean. I have some very serious deadlines fast approaching and this does not help in the slightest. This whole weekend has been a bit crazy, hectic and well just plain nuts.

I’m with you KH… at this point, my subdomains (the things that seem to have the biggest issue at the moment) have been down now close to 48 hours. It’s obvious the server is up and that the data is there, it’s just a http conf mistake or they have the wrong IP address showing as being the correct one in DNS. I’ve submitted 4 support tickets, 1 with a call back, and have heard nothing at all in response for the last 16 hours. Sites down, no reply… Did DH go on vacation today and not leave anyone behind to offer support to a customer who has taken a beating the last 2 weeks?

All my datas are away now and DH asking me if I were backing them up, “You are ultimately responsible for your own data”, hehehe, how when I didn’t have any access, any possiblities in the last many days? You’re very funny DH!

Well it is now going on 72 hours since the sites have gone down and I have not heard of anything other then a few corespondences with the staff about some of the issues. I really need to get this fixed. Anyone having better luck? I am sure that eventually it will be fixed I just wish I knew when.

I just got my first reply in 24 hours to my support tickets… Basically they gave me the template reply to a different question and ultimately did not solve the problem. I had even marked the ticket for a call back, and they decided it was best not to call me because it was “to late”. The fact that the support rep told me that my site was still on abrego and seemed to think that was OK is what really has me mad at the moment. I’m 99.9% sure that Abrego is still offline, and no site should be running from it.

In any case, 24 hours of complete blackout is my last straw… At least half my stuff is now packing up and moving to Westhost as we speak. If you need to get into your data Aaron, most likely you can do it by connecting via fiat’s FTP address still… IE: 208.113.195.8 (assuming that’s the server you came from).

I got everything back to buchalter… EXCEPT my most important and heavy websites! they backed up the shitty ones I had hosted and not the 8GB monster I had in one of my domains. it’s not even in morpheus when I log in there with my old password… guess it’s lost forever. they credited me with 3 months worth of subscription fees, but this doesn’t make up for the damage. I just want to know what they did with my files.

How I got my problem resolved (although it doesn’t matter anymore because i’ve moved most of the data anyway to westhost):

At least in my case, the problem was with subdomains. For some reason, all of my subdomains and parts of the panel were still showing abrego as the server, where they should have been showing fiat again. If this is what has happened, they will need to manually update apache for you (at least thats what the tech did) and repair your panel. If you have a callback, I suggest using it, and not letting them hang up until your back online.
