Swiffer file server problems
Posted (November 19th, 2008 at 12:15 pm PST) by RalphWe are currently experiencing some problems with the file server Swiffer. The machine is having problems with some ram that needs to be replaced. We are on the way to replace it right now. The affected machines are:

We will post as soon as this issue is resolved.
Update 13:26 PST: The ram has been replaced and the file server came back online without a hitch. We are cleaning up the webservers that tanked due to I/O backup, if your sites are not back now they should be shortly.

snowcap is never listed when it is effected. Is this the same outage?

Any progress on this it has been over an hour?
What about dribbler fileserver? it is down for some minutes!

Okay, I have a client using a web app for a research study and my phone hasn’t stopped ringing about this. When can we expect this to be resolved? This is entirely unacceptable.

Hope it gets resolved soon. I also would like to know what on the way to fix them means? How far away are the servers?
File Server Dribbler is also down affecting web server Odysseus. Hurry Guys!!

Why are my servers not listed in the affected list? They are most certainly down…
Over an hour of downtime now… From the comments it looks like a lot more than just the servers listed are down.

My site on gotti is not working.
I can’t believe it!! How could you let my sites go down!!! I mean I am paying you guys $5.95 a month for unlimited space and bandwidth!!! I am not smart enough to figure out that if I am paying that rock bottom price that I might actually have to deal with down time and if I wanted 100% uptime I would need to pay a much higher price then the very cheap 5.95 a month. AHHHH!!!
Cool it guys, if you have mission critical stuff that is so important that it can’t go down then it should be important enough to throw some more money at and pay for a host that can give you the high % uptime you need. For me dreamhost is great they give me all the services I need for an amazing price. Sure every once and a while there is a hick-up but its nothing to cry about, I am only paying less then a starbucks coffee for a month of great hosting.
