Alchemy Scheduled Maintenance — LAX
Posted (March 3rd, 2010 at 12:01 pm PST) by robertnSee? Now that didn’t hurt a bit! Maintenance completed successfully.
Our friends at the LAX Alchemy, where we have one of our Data Centers, has informed us they will be doing maintenance on their UPS. From their email:
A preventive maintenance on some of Alchemy’s UPS power at the LAX data center will be performed during a scheduled maintenance window beginning on Wednesday, March 3rd, 2010, at 10:00pm (data center local time) and ending approximately six (6) to eight (8) hours later (2200-0600). As a precaution, all power will be shifted to generator power during this maintenance. The maintenance should be transparent to you and no interruptions of service are anticipated; however as with any maintenance, there is a small possibility of service issues as configuration changes are made.
This notice is just to keep you informed! You shouldn’t feel a thing…

My site has been completely down for the last half hour or so. I can access FTP and email but my site is completely down.
Pete, this hasn’t happened yet.

I think there’s a problem. My VPS started freaking out around the same time this was scheduled, about an hour ago. All of my sites are totally down, can’t access anything via the shell, and restarting didn’t help. Haven’t heard back from support.
