Mail delay on junk filtered domains

Posted February 26th, 2007 at 8:36 am PST

On our system, mail to filtered domains is coming in through the junk mail machines, which then distribute processed mail to the regular mail machines. As mail service was affected by the outage yesterday, the junk machines got backed up, and are still. We have six of them, so mail is being processed as it [...]

Mail authentication outage

Posted February 12th, 2007 at 6:01 pm PST

We just experienced an authentication outage for all of our mail clusters. This has been resolved.
A network hiccup caused our load balancers to reset all connections to the backend authentication databases, which in turn caused all mail servers to need a reset to get their connections back.

Earthlink/CBL Update

Posted January 6th, 2007 at 3:47 pm PST

An update on the previous CBL/Earthlink issue posted about here:
http://www.dreamhoststatus.com/2007/01/03/cblxbl-blacklist-issues-bouncing-mail/
CBL temporarily inhibited our IPs from being blocked several days ago, so our listings there (and with XBL/spamhaus) have ceased. We’re still talking with them to get this resolved permanently, and our IPs should not be blocked by them in the meantime. As many [...]

CBL/XBL Blacklist Issues / Bouncing Mail

Posted January 3rd, 2007 at 4:29 pm PST

We have been having issues for the past few days with mail being rejected due to several of our main IPs being listed, de-listed, and re-listed within a matter of hours in the CBL blacklist. Earthlink among many other providers use this blacklist to reject mail. The XBL blacklist also incorporates CBL into [...]
